Ahaha I had no help this time, she was being a pain for sure I don't see any clarity and there is just the tiniest, ittiest bit of yellowing on her molars so I figured definitely under two, and so 1yrs is the best guess we got. (is that what their back teeth are called, molars? Or is it just for the hoomans? lol)

I am trying to figure out how old my newest edition is. Her teeth are pearly white. She was kibble fed until last Saturday when I got her. Now she is raw fed. My vet thinks she is 9 mos but she looks like 3-6mos to me cuz she is just a wittle thing.

The first one, Tonto, from the first pic the clarity seems to go almost halfway up, so I'm gonna guess maybe 5-6 yrs. The second one I'm not too sure about. Heather is good at aging though. What do you think?

I put the first ferret at about 7yrs. Clarity is better than half way up the tooth. There is also major clarity in the gums and other teeth. Note the clarity at the root of the teeth The second ferret is about 3 or 4 yrs of age. Teeth show some clarity to about 1/3 of the tooth. There is some clarity noted near the root but this is probably do to being kibble fed ciao

When I adopted Coconut last month, they told me she was ~2 and a half. From what I'm seeing, her tooth looks halfway translucent, which would put her at 6 or 7 Am I just not seeing it correctly?

Hm, I'm not sure on Coconut. Perhaps 5-6 yrs? Though you could be right on 7yrs, it's not too often we see ferrets that old. The more I look at it the more the translucency looks about halfway.
We'll let the senior members have a look.

Thanks @julesalot! It just seems strange that she could be that old because she is very energetic and perfectly healthy. She was surrendered to the shelter as part of a trio due to the owners "moving," so I guess it could make sense that they were ditched due to their age.

I think a safe middle is 6 years. Heather what do you think about her Coconut's teeth? You'd be surprised at how energetic oldies can be. My Caillou is 5yrs and I thought he was 2yrs because of his energy. It's very good she is older and still healthy and energetic

I'm going to say 5/6. The translucency hasn't travelled to the gums and molars yet. Her teeth and gums are in really good shape or has Coconut had her teeth recently cleaned? ciao

@julesalot I guess it's just a shocker that if she truly is older, she doesn't have any of the normal Marshall illnesses. I guess I just braced myself for them to appear around 3 or 4 so much that it didn't seem possible that they might not happen lol.
