Again, she didn't want it right away. She likes to make me worry I'm not sure if she ate overnight, but I caught her eating this morning! I even heard crunching sounds, like she was eating the bone that settles to the bottom I still haven't gotten the chance to pick up any gizzards. I'll have to convince my roommate to take me during his break (he works from home). Normally he takes me places I need to go before he works at 4pm (since my SO works from 2-11pm ), but today, he's at a shelter looking for a special cat to bring home with him

They just love to see us sweat...brats I'm glad to hear that she does eventually eat her meal, including the bone. I had one boy who for 6 months, I never knew he was eating, he wouldn't eat in front of me. I knew he must be because he was getting fat and sleek but I never saw him...brat. It wasn't until I caught him stealing a bowl of food one day that I actually saw him eat ;D ciao

Silly butts ;D Reks used to do that, too, and now Sari I'm used to her just throwing tantrums by tipping the bowls, even while the others were still eating out of it No matter... she ate tonight's meal right away ;D I'm getting the car tomorrow so that I can pick up some gizzards finally. Is there anything else you think I should get?

Well...you've got them eating chicken and venison, without any problems. I would be trying another protein if you can get it. Another thing you might try is to grab a couple of wings and chop them up or pound them a bit with a hammer and see if your guys will chew on them. It's worth a try, there are no guarantees and I"m sure that wee Sari will have issues with it but it's worth a try. Talk at you later ciao

Picked up some gizzards and chicken wing drummettes for now. They ate the NV chicken mush just fine with some cut up gizzards in there, but haven't touched them yet. I'm hoping when they eat most of the mush part, they'll try the gizzard. I'll let you know! ;D

The gizzards were untouched I decided to try a crushed up chicken wing in their next meal. Reks and Pan ate some skin, but Bantha and Sari just ate around it This morning, it looks like no one ate anymore of the chicken wing Should I try the gizzards or the smashed up chicken wing again with them today?

Do you have a food processor? Don't but the wings in there for the gizzards . They bounce around like little ping pong balls but they do eventually grind them up but the grind isn't fine. This might introduce the flavour to your wee ones. They may not be ready yet for the chicken wings. How big a piece did you give them. I leave it with them or see if they will play tug with it with you. They don't know it's food yet, that's the problem...the other problem is convincing them that it is food. They may just not be ready for whole meats yet. You may have to continue sneaking the odd piece into their soupy. ciao

I don't have one I'll see what I can do. The chicken wings I smashed a bit with a hammer (with it in a ziplock bag) and then cut it into smaller pieces. The pieces ended up being penny sized to quarter sized. I'm sure it was too big for them Surprisingly, it mixed in with the mush well, but they still ate around the pieces. I know they like skin though (Pan and Reks were noming away at it ;D). I'll try sneaking in some gizzards again today until I can get a food processor.

Take a really sharp knife and cut really tiny pieces...slivered about the size of the finger nail tips. You don't need the food processor or at least hopefully if your guys are cooperating you won't If they're eating the skin on the wings, they're starting to get the idea. Bone is something that is a difficult go with most ferrets. They're lazy creatures when it comes to food and if they can get by without chewing a lot then they will. I would keep offering little pieces, only one or two pieces. Stick the rest in the freezer, so they don't go bad. Good luck, perseverance is going to be the biggest thing

I think there is a possibility that a few little pieces of the gizzard added last night were eaten, but I'm not sure I had to rush out this morning since my mom was visiting, so I only made them their chicken mush. I will try the gizzard again tonight and count the pieces I put in to check tomorrow morning. Only problem is figuring out who's eating the gizzard (if anyone) ;D

You've got me on that one....that bothers me too when I'm switching multiples...or even when we're trying a different protein. Only Yuri and Minion sleep alone, the rest live with their own business families. Eventually, they slip up and you find out ciao

Well... it looks like no one really ate any gizzard overnight I had some hope when Bantha accidentally came across a piece when eating, picked it up in his mouth, then slinked off to eat it. When I went over to see what he'd do, he just licked it clean, but left the piece behind Sari, when offered it on a spoon, also licked a piece clean, but no interest in eating it. Not even Pan and Reks ate any it seemed What's plan B? ;D Should I try some boneless chicken slivers in there instead (since it's less tough to chew)?

Put the rest of your gizzards in the freezer for now, lets go to something that's easier and less chewy....chicken pieces (you may want to just take some pieces of the bone and use those). Good luck and keep me posted. ciao

I cut some small pieces off of the chicken wings and added that to their meal last night and this morning. It looks like they ate most of the pieces from last night, but not all of it ;D
Since that went pretty well, I'll continue with that for now. Once I know they are eating it consistently, do I increase the amount of pieces or cut bigger pieces first?
