Two things, neither of which will probably be very helpful, sorry!
1) Why don't you just have your jills done? Then you don't have any worries about repeatedly jabbing them, or possible phantom pregancies etc.
2) Yay, you're in England! I'm actually moving to go to Liverpool Uni to do my Masters in a few months! It'll be nice to know I'm not the only crazy ferret lady in the city!

Keeping intact animals saves having to worry extensively about adrenal. I've never hated a disease more than adrenal other than maybe insulinoma. A ferret is automatically set up for adrenal upon altering (doesn't mean they will get it but it does set them up) so if I have my options....I would keep my ferrets intact and make use of a vhob to keep my wee jills happy. JMO of course ciao
