I've bought a new Ferret Kingdom to house the kits I'm adopting next month. I've removed all the ladders for my boys, would I need to put them back in for an 8 week old kits? :/ What bedding is a good use of space? Ideally I want a lot of hanging beds so I can slide out the bottom tray for easy cleaning. What should I buy? Floor and shelf liners.. do I really need them? The wire is covered by plastic so there's no really need..? The hammocks were a freebe, I can't blame them for not using them. They have plenty of toys don't worry.

to house the kits I'm adopting next month KitS? kitSSS? As in PLURAL? You never told us plural !!! I thought you were only getting ONE!!! ;D Anyway, yes, put the ramps back in with covers while they are so tiny Once they grow a bit, you can take them back out. And this is the only reason I use a shelf cover, and it MUST be a pillow case type: Otherwise, they get blood all over everything, and it has to be removed after one day ;D

Floor and shelf covers are very helpful to make life easier for you, by discouraging them to poop or pee wherever they want. For example, look at this breeder's setup where she keeps her kits: Notice how every inch of floor is covered with something cuddly? Helps discourage from wayward pottying and helps them learn good litterbox habits...

KitS? kitSSS? As in PLURAL? You never told us plural !!! I thought you were only getting ONE!!! ;D Well.. I was worried kit 1 might need someone his own age to play with? ;D I's he using the cover as a hammock?? Notice how every inch of floor is covered with something cuddly? Helps discourage from wayward pottying and helps them learn good litterbox habits... Oh Thank you Mikey! I forgot about litter training.

OoO lucky you! for cleaning I just mix 1/4 vinegar then water and 2 table spoons of lemon juice and put it in a spray bottle. Works well, smells lemon fresh and removes stains (of the poop kind ). Hanging toys are good, just baby toys or bird toys with no small parts. Hang them in corners stops them from backing up into un wanted poo zones. Now for bedding, Salem just has a cuddle cup in the bottom half shelf, then in the middle shelf he has an extra large sleep sack, the top half shelf he has a hanging circle bed then in the top he has his hammock. Can I ask you where you got that fish?

Go to the show off your cage thread and it should give you an idea. My first girl Loki came with a ferret nation and the owner didn't put anything in it except for a towel which she kept) and 2 raggidy hammocks. It was a cold and uninviting cage. What would you prefer too sleep in nice plush warm bedding or cold hard plastic? Also they have a tendency of falling out of bed at night and you dont want them hurting themselves. Also You should cover the ramps so no limbs get stuck. You can use mens tube socks if you like. The little kits will certainly need them.
