Congratulations on your new kit. In my household, when I bring in a new kit. I am not able to put them into the FN cage due to my others ferrets living in the FN cage. I put my kit(s) into a cage that has no shelf. One level. They have hammock hanging over the litter box and food and water in the opposite corner of the cage. I use a large littler box in the cage, so that it covers the other two corners. I find that putting kids in this cage set helps with litter training. I also use a lot of bedding on the floor or cage. You might fine that your kit will sleep in the litter box. All my kits did that and I had to show them that the sleep area was in the hammock. If your kit in with adults they might not appreciated a kit sleeping in a litter box. Mom, Jr. in the litter box....I got to go. If you not around...the adults may pick another spot in the cage to go...it might not be the litter box. Kits are full of energy, sometimes they are not coordinated or sometimes they just don't think. Just to be on the safe side, I like to put my kits in a small cage until they old enough and are in the business of ferret group I have here at the house. This works in our household...I hope I gave you some ideas. Good luck in setting up your new home for your kit.

Or they might go anyway This is what I think happened with Finn, when I first got him he slept in the litterbox and one morning woke up like this: P1010553 by walkerstop, on Flickr And yes that is poop
