Since they don't have anything else to eat, you need to try to get at least a teaspoonful into stiv and Cody every two or three hours until they are eating enough on their own. On an off note, if you can't find heart you need to get some taurine capsules. Taurine is a necessity for them as their diet develops.

You can get taurine either in a health food store, or online. If you don't have a credit card, you should talk to the bank about a prepaid one. They work well. And I'm on my iPhone

To get enough taurine, you really need either heart or brain. And hearts are by far the easiest to get hold of. Besides which, since brain is an organ meat, they can only have a couple ounces a week each. Also, have you picked them up any kibble yet? Until they are eating enough raw to survive, they really do need it. At least Cody and Stiv do for certain.

Two days with minimal food? Really glad you are picking up the kibble! That's well into the dangerous levels. He must be getting something from the soup to help sustain him. Anyway, once he's had a couple days of getting back to a safe level with the kibble, we'll push him a wee bit. But for the next couple of weeks at least we are going to take things a bit slower than we would have. For now, just keep offering licks of the soup. With the two who ARE doing well with the raw, try mincing up some chicken. No more than slivers the size of the end of your finger nail. Give them a dish of that, and put some soup on it- sort of like a gravy and let me know how they do with it! With Coda, try starting with offering her the soup from your finger, then move to a spoon to see if she'll take it that way yet.

Congratulations!!! I'm so glad they've all decided to eat it Be careful with the ferrevite. It's loaded with sugar, which is why they like it so much. Ok, next. Keep them on this twice a day for the next couple of days. Then start adding in slivers of meat the size of the cresent of your fingernail. Not a lot, just a few. At first, they might just lick around them and leave the bits. And you may also have to pop a piece in their mouths so they know it's food.

ok! i know hagrid will eat whole peices, as you saw the picture with the pork chops, he still prefers soup but we will work around it. I gave them ferret vite because i was worried about the blood sugar, and only gave them a teaspoon in the whole thing We got some kibble, and might give it to them at night and take it in the early morning. then an hour later i will give them soup. is that a good idea? kibble at night, take it away in the morning and wait an hour or two to get whatever is left of the kibble out of their system?

That works well. I did that with Suki, since Emily was caged with her during the daytime for company. With the rest, I left it out at night, fed them in the morning with the raw, put the kibble back in til about 3 hours before dinner time. They got a wee bit once more at bedtime, then out again for the night. You will find it difficult having one ferret too far ahead of the others, unless he simply prefers chunk to soup, but up to you on how to feed Hagrid. We can keep offering him some chunk about 15 minutes before serving soup if you like. That way he'll hopefully full up on those first, and the others might pick it up from him.
