1. Where did you first learn about natural diets for ferrets?
Ferret Owners Group on FB....Miamiferrets1 & Sherry
2. Please describe the type of diet you would like assistance in switching your ferret(s) to.
Not whole prey. I'm thinking of starting them with the freeze dried raw kibble, because as of now they are on kibble and I want to make the transition easy. I'm not really sure because I'm not experienced with raw diets. Suggestions are always appreciated!
3. Why are you interested in switching your ferrets to a natural diet?
To improve the health of my two, and prevent them from ailments.
4. Do you understand that switching your ferret to a natural diet can be a lengthy, arduous process?
I am willing to make the commitment. I will be going to school, but just Part Time and that's not for another month and a half.
5. How many ferrets do you currently have? What are their names? Ages? Genders? Do they have any health problems? Are they overweight? Underweight? How long have you had each ferret for?
I have two ferrets. A DEW who is 1 year 10 months of age, and a sable shelter rescue approximately 6 months of age. They are BOTH healthy as far as I know. The sable female (Tabby) is a much better eater than Troubles, my DEW. He only weighs about 2 lbs. Not sure of Tabby's weight but she's pretty filled out
6. What diet do you currently feed your ferrets?
Primary Food- EVO and gradually reducing Tabby off the kibble that she was being fed at the shelter which includes 8 in 1, totally ferret, and marshalls. I mix all 4 together and every day add less of the 3 Tabby was fed at the shelter.
7. Have you ever tried to switch your ferrets to a natural diet in the past?
not yet
8. What additional information about yourself or your ferrets would you like to share?
Troubles holds up to his name, he's very energetic, never sits still or wants to be held. He always gave me lots of kisses but now that Tabby is with us he's more interested in her. Tabby is very gentle and sweet. She's a dollbaby!
I am in school for veterinary technology, I'm 30 years old...I do have a few other pets, a canary (raises curiosity from the ferts), and a couple geckos. my cat is being taken care of by my grandmother. Her name is Chloe and she has hyperthyroidism, but she takes meds and is 16 years old !!
9. How often during the week do you have access to a computer?
10. Please post a picture of each of your ferrets (if possible).
You can see my ferrets in my siggy, I am not on the computer that has all my pics in it, but both Mr. T and Ms. T are there
