After Charlie passed away I couldn't stand the house being so quiet. I needed a pet. So I went to the humane society and found me a cute little black kitten. Her name is Marley. I got her name by taking my dog, Molly, who also passed away, the first letter of her name and combined it with Charlie's name and took the "arlie" and got Marlie but I'm spelling it Marley so she has her own name too.
She is very sweet and friendly. She was 5 months old when I got her. I saw her on the website and was filling out a form to start the adoption while I was at work on my break but it didn't go through. So my boss said to go down there and see the cat. I had just finished my break but she insisted I go and to take my time. So I went there and got to see her and play with her and filled out the form. She was pretty much mine right then and there. She was going in to be spayed on the Tuesday after the weekend so they said I could visit her every day. Since they have a short visitation window and I was at work most of those days I wasn't able to go. But I did visit her on the Sunday. As soon as I got to the cage and opened the door she came right to me. There were 2 other cats there and neither of them came to the door but she did so she must have remembered me.
When I finally got her home she wasn't even afraid and didn't hide anywhere. She sat with me for 3 days and purred and we played. She reminds me of my Siamese with how easy going she was.
I'm still hoping a ferret will come into my life when the time is right. I know Marley will be great with a ferret. A doberman dog was looking for a new home and I had hoped he was going to work out but after a lot of thought, it was probably not best to get another dog with the hours I work now since the "C" word. I did have a trial with the doberman for a weekend. He was very sweet and Marley was very curious and interested in playing with him but he was a bit too rough with her. Molly would have just sniffed her and then moved on.
Well, that's pretty much all that has happened since I lost my sweet Charlie.
