Haha, a literal wet rat. Hope it doesn’t have puncture wounds from the cat.

I didn't see any in the brief time I had eyes on it. These rats don't seem to be overly aggressive, even fresh form a kat's mouth. Maybe it was freaked out, but it never tried to bite my glove, and that's not the first one I've rescued.

they are cute and they are not aggressive. they live in the woods and eat things we humans don't care for. I have seen them active during the day in several locations. I've also rescued 2 others from the kats, and saw a couple KIA too late. BUT, when a kat eats a rat, bird, or any small prey, or even licks it, the kat can ingest a flea, which can carry this That is an adult flea tapeworm. I found it after stepping barefoot in a fresh pile of kat gak when I went to open the front door on 07 26 22. It was alive and moving. 8 inches long. This tapeworm NEEDS a flea host for the larvae to grow. None of my kats or ferrets have fleas, but the kats are hunters so...

these worms are not really harmful like heartworms, but they are kinda gross. Almost as gross as stepping in warm kat gak barefoot, but not quite.

walking near my house Wednesday heard mew mew coming from the woods near the road, but saw no kats. Heard it again Thursday and I went in the woods to look but it went quiet and again, nothing. Heard it again around dusk so I got a flashlight and saw eyes. Coaxed her out with the light and some stinky kat food. kit3 by unclejoe1158, on Flickr kit5 by unclejoe1158, on Flickr

Her name is Sorcha. It's incredible how a 6 week old kitten not only adapted to a house with 5 adult kats, but they mostly seem to defer to her. When she finishes her wet food, she can walk up to anyone's bowl and stick her face in and eat, so we have been putting her bowl on the back porch until everyone else eats. She's becoming curious about Bobo and I'm hopeful they will become playmates. She bounces around playing by herself or with Tool kat 8-9 hrs a day. her surgery is sked for 10-18 She's a treasure.
