I am getting my ferrets next tuesday. I am so happy and I can't wait. I will start them out on the kibble they are used to then once they are settled I will start the raw transition.

I won't know which ones or if I'm getting 2 or 3 until next tuesday. Which feels so far away. I have purchased a lot of stuff for them over the last 2 days which is making me more impatient. Right now I'm focusing on what to put in their dig box. I know sand and a couple sea shells but I need more and so do they.

Lots of people use long grain rice and it's cheap too.
I bet next Tuesday feels like a long ways away! That's still a week! At least you have time to get everything set up and ready before you get them!. Since you are getting young ferrets from Petco (read in another thread) they will be easy to switch to raw!! My ferret and I got acquainted over 3 days. I think I was more afraid of him only because they have a really good bite with needle like teeth at that age!! lol

So far their dig box is a tall storage tote with sand and a couple sea shells. I'm probably going to bury some of their rattling ball toys in there as well. I will be connecting their dig box with their ball pit (with a 6 packs of extra balls). I will most likely have a tunnel leading out of the ball pit into the open and have a few more toys in the open for them to play with. Then another tunnel leading into the dig box. But I'm hoping to think of a few more "treasures" for them to find in the dig box

I have read it. I also purchased a couple plexiglass type play pen for them so at the very least they have something to help keep them safe. I also will be using the play pens outside. This summer to keep a good eye on them.

Sounds like you're just about all set. One note on the plexiglass playpens--make sure the panels can't flex enough for gaps to open up, there is the danger of ferrets trying to push through but getting stuck in the seams.

Thank you for the warning. I just put their cage together. Apparently I got a off brand ferret nation. So it has wire floors. I put fleece blankets over them to keep the ferrets feet safe. As far as bedding they have 2 hammocks, a sleep tube and a round bed. Lots of toys and on Friday they will have a tunnel and 2 litterboxes and it will be all ready for them to come home to on tuesday

So major disappointment. Went to Petco to get a couple things for my grandmother. And wanted to confirm the ferrets will be there Tuesday. Turns out they didn't order and don't know when they would.

Aww no, so sorry to hear that. Thank you. I guess to focus on the positive I am able to use this time to do more research on raw feeding which is a super important aspect of feeding and keeping ferrets healthy.
