My baby girl had two bouts with diarrhea once a week for the last two weeks. We thought our pork kidney was bad but then she had it the next week on livers. We did some "average" math on their food % and come to find out she was eating 2oz+ each organ meal twice a week. Apparently that is too much and we toned it down to 1.2oz per meal twice a week and it stopped her diarrhea. Hope this helps.

Yeah, organs can cause some very loose stools. Also, you can add some pumpkin, or even powdered eggshell to firm them up.

I've been eyeballing the percentages. I may have gotten them wrong for whatever reason. I'll add some bonemeal-they like that better. We shall see. Thanks y'all.

Fraggle seems to only produce dark poo, that is fairly liquid. A bit like the photo posted by boojum01. He is perfectly happy and lively, his coat is shiny and silky, but I'm a bit worried that he doesn't seem to be producing anything with any texture. Should I be giving him something to thicken/harden them a bit? He gets a variety of meats including organs and bone-in chicken, and probiotics and some salmon oil.
He does also get impacted anal glands, and I was wondering if the two might be related?
Thanks!

They could well be related. How much bone is he getting? I give 8-9 meals a week of fairly bone heavy meats, like necks or wings. Also- how much salmon oil are you giving him? Too much organ meat, or beef can do that as well.

Thanks - will try less beef, more bones! He doesn't get very much salmon oil, just a couple of drops at a time as he's a bit itchy at the moment, as he's shedding his winter coat.

I posted the link to this on the Ferret World facebook forum (with a disclaimer that I am not the creator or owner of the poop chart)! I hope that's okay! (Topic of the day was what different looking poops meant)

All of our kids have stools that resemble the first one boojum posted. Are these normal for plain old meat meals? They eat very healthy, play very well, and are drinking lots of water. Their stools are just really loose, even while eating bone. As long as they are doing things like they always do, is it safe to assume they are healthy?

It should change depending on what they eat. If it's an organ meal, or any blood rich meal then that's normal. Raw fed stools will also always be smaller and wetter.

Okay. We finally finished switching and while they don't eat a lot of bone quite yet, I still want to make sure that this is fairly normal. Thank you!
