Yes! Rabbit for a month! Sorry. Forgot to answer the question. Also, would it be possible for the Pepcid and carafate to upset his tummy or is it just coincidence?

Often times during a switch when we intro new proteins we have to go back to the beginning and use the least amount of the new protein mixed with the old base they will accept and then slowly switch out the new for the old again. Did that make sense? I suggest goat or lamb for Roscoe because rabbit, goat and lamb are the 3 proteins less likely for him to have a reaction to. The purpose of carafate and or pepcid is to settle his tummy so chances are he is not getting an upset tummy from these things, however stranger things have happened lol.

I forgot to give him to meds one morning and his poop was fine that day. I didn't give it to him that night and they have been good ever since. Makes no sense to me. I'm going to give it to him today to see if the bad poop starts back up again.

How did the med test go? Have you been able to source some lamb or goat? If not I get mine from hare today.

He started having diarrhea again on the meds!!!!!!!!! I have never heard of that before! I think he is a strange ferret. Haha! I am going to order from Hare Today tomorrow when I get paid. The dental work has drained me. I paid for some abd charged some. Plus implants for the ferrets...I had to get those. He did okay today. No bad poop (no meds today) and acting crazy! Hubby is playing with them. I still don't feel too good. When I had my upper wisdom teeth out, it was NOTHING like these lower ones. Geez. I look like I've been punched in the jaw on both sides. :/

Wisdom teeth suck, I had 3 removed at once and they left the 4th in. Unless it starts giving me issues that is where it will remain lol! I guess stop the meds then and play it by ear. I'm glad he is feeling well though. How is everyone esle doing? Have you made any progress with increasing the sizes of chunks? Or getting anyone to eat their bone in?

Sorry it has taken me forever to write! I have had the worst time with these wisdom teeth! Everyone is doing good. Max and Chloe eat their bone in. They love it. The others won't touch it. The only bone in they get is with their grinds. Toby will eat chunks. The others won't. Ugh.

Not a bad start, here is a link to a chart to help you balance the whole meals with the frankenprey menu, Balance my menu. Look that over and then post a new menu please. :goodjob:

Um. I don't understand that chart. I'm going to blame it on me being in excruciating pain and not being able to focus on anything. It's been almost 2 weeks since the wisdom teeth extraction...

:heehee: No worries, so the grinds you use are complete grinds so they would be considered whole prey meals by that chart so as an example if you are feeding 5 whole meals (in your case the balanced grinds)then you would feed 6 bone in meals 1 muscle meal, 1 heart meal, and 1 organ meal. Make me up a menu with that lol

So do I need to cut back on the grinds? Max and Chloe eat the drumettes and the will eat Cornish game hen as well.

In general yes you should be cutting down on the grinds in favor of things that make them work their teeth more in order to eat them. This will help keep their teeth nice and clean and strong. If you are asking about the menu you posted though, you actually have too many muscle meals. You can switch out some of the grinds for whole prey if you want to switch them to some of that. I only feed one meal of whole grinds a week to my youngest 4, I also feed their organ meal as a soupie. So they continue to be familiar with those textures. I'm going away for the weekend, will not be back until Monday. I will try to check in while I am gone but just in case I can't I wanted to make sure you knew.
