Posted in another thread: Hey, I'm pretty new to raw feeding ferrets. We used to feed our Bengal raw when he was younger (he stopped eating it) so I understand the benefits of doing so. I have a good idea of where to start, but I have a question, when I start with the soup and they finally start eating it off my finger, spoon and bowl in my lap, do I start putting it in their feeding area? What do I do with their kibble at these times, do I take it out 2-3 hrs before? Do I stop feeding it all together? I am going to sign up with the mentoring program but I am impatient and would like to start now. I would be weighing them weekly and journaling their progress. TIA Read more: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/20947/switching-raw#ixzz491otSSiTI just tried the above this morning after their playtime (2hrs after waking and eating kibble) All 3 ate Chicken soupie off my finger/spoon and all three ate it out of the dish. I put the left overs in the cage they all ate a bit. I will be putting their kibble back in, in about an hour. My one jill is a little upset that theres no kibble, she is showing aggression to her toys and bedding, refusing to finish the last bit of chicken soupies. The other two seem content and are sleeping. I will try getting her to eat more off my finger and spoon now. Still planning on signing up for mentoring of course.

If thy are eating the soup out of the bowl. I would not even bother giving them back the kibble. They will learn that they do not have to eat the soup and just have to wait for you to put the kibble back in with them to eat.
