Hehe, the tiniest silver is one of the keepers, she's called Lilac and is gorgeous! BUT I think you might be talking about the lightest silver who I'm undecided on. She certainly has a really lovely personality, but then all of the kits are really lovely little characters. This particular kit was very shy to start with but luckily now she has really come out of her shell

Either is fine, or both. Or one of the sables (the little tail-wagger would be great). Or the whites (albinos or DEWs?). I'll take any or all! They are precious!!

So ... over 9 weeks old now and actual proper little ferrets. They will most likely be staying for another 2-4 weeks (if I can even part with any then) ... but they are absolutely stunning little babies. Play nips galore but these little ones know just how hard they are allowed to use teeth and only mouth, if you tell them 'gentle' they stop straight away. They are cute when they're younger but I do just think this age is wonderful! Still wriggle bottoms though! Mouse, the biggest sable boy Two of the girlies Menacing the fly net! Mouse Lilac Blue mouthing my finger looking vicious! Mouse, looking every bit his mother's son! Blue, one of the bini hobs Mitted jill trying to kill the camera strap! Mitted jill and Mouse And of course, the flynet has to be taught who's boss! Red's also got to join in with the flynet game Lilac and Lily, the two smallest jills, wrestling. 'HALP Mum! She got me!!' I may be biased, but I think they're absolutely beautiful!!

My goodness, they are gorgeous!!! Thank you for putting up so many pictures, each one is more adorable than the last So if this brood was to check the line, what did you find out, if you don't mind telling us? Genetics fascinate me (luckily not enough to start breeding). Among other things, I'm curious about the little mitted meepers.

Well, so far the litter has developed well with no problems. I have found there is irish spotting in the line ... and scarily if it gets too concentrated it will bring blazes as two of these silver kits have white on the backs of their heads/necks. So I do need to be careful with that as I really don't want blazes/pandas etc. None of the kits in this litter have hearing problems as the first thing I did was check all of their hearing when I realised there was irish spotting. I have also found out that there is albino in the line, which I also didn't know ... Mischief's previous litter threw no albinos and both of her daughter's litters to an albino carrier also threw no albinos so it must be just pure chance that neither Petal nor Nutmeg carry albino.
How they do over their lifetime will be the real decider. I am keeping quite a few, and others who are leaving are going to people who will keep me updated throughout their lives. I am hoping they will just have normal healthy lives but time is the teller on this.

That is so cool (I'm serious when I say I love genetics!). So is the Irish spotting "natural" or do you think there was a designer blaze earlier in the line? I guess probably not, since your ferrets don't come from the Marshall ferret farms. Although maybe some British breeders (not you) breed for these traits? And LOL at the surprise albinos

I have always had a thing for dark noses, but this little pink nose is just precious! They are all beautiful wee mites.

I guess probably not, since your ferrets don't come from the Marshall ferret farms. Although maybe some British breeders (not you) breed for these traits? And LOL at the surprise albinos I highly doubt there are any intentionally bred blazes in the lineage. At the end of the day extreme irish spotting (concentration of the genetics and modifiers over generations) is what causes blazes and more than likely what also brings about pandas. I expect the irish spotting has been lingering in the background on this line. It tells me where all the mitts have come from in every other litter though! Some british breeders most definitely breed for extreme white. I frequently see whole litters of blazed, panda and other variants and they're priced higher than 'just sables' but often these are angora lines and have chocolates and lilacs and whatever you could imagine too! And gfountain Lilac is the absolute spitting image of her Dad at the same age ...

That pic of Lilac in the tube has to be the cutest ferret pic ever (and I've take a few ) She's just beaurtiful, but going forward, If I have a choice in colors (bever turn down a ferret in need) I am soft for standard ables and albinos. Sables/poleys are getting harder to find here, and albinos have trouble finding homes. (To be honest, I'm not sure where to go around here to buy a ferret.)

Am going to take some more pics of these guys tomorrow properly as they turned 10 weeks old on Saturday. They are so lovely, and I gave in and lethally named every one that didn't already have a home to go to and a name ... So now we have Lily, Lilac, Gem, Velveteen, Sapphire, Blue, Pipkin and Mouse. Just a few pics from earlier today when I was mooching and spending some time with the other litters ... Everyone was fast asleep with only Pipkin and Lilac still awake ... Lilac was busy trying to make headway on a chicken bone from breakfast While her siblings snoozed .. But Pipkin is also awake and then Lilac notices me sneakily taking pics and has to come and see. Then I had to promptly and quietly exit the ferret shed before everybody woke up and I had to get them all out (giggle)

Ah every time I see an update I get so excited, I love these little babies and their cute wee faces. And I mean when I see you taking care of all these ferrets I begin to think that maybe one or two more ferrets wouldn't hurt. . . . (giggle)
