Yes pretty much. He is getting a larger ratio of meat vs. Soup. Mainly it's a gravy type situation for Gomez. He's doing good with the CGH bones. He ate almost an entire wing tip- left only the a bite! The knuckle end... We are so proud

Evening Gina.....the vet checked Jax poop and found absolutely nothing all good. So, for dinner tonight he had 1 oz od beef souoie, 1 oz of beef I slivered up and we added extra bone meal. He ate it all and Jami tried a chicken knuckle/bone to just exercise his jaw and he crunched it, didn't eat it but has excellent jaw power yay Good boy

Well, poop. I was hoping she would find something.
Jax is chewing on bone. That's a good start. We should get him started on bone, but there's the problem of WHAT bone, since we're suspicious of the chicken. Let's give him a few days on the beef soup to see if his poops firm up and then we'll decide what to do. My iPad is going crazy so can't type any more now. Give the boys hugs for me. You guys are all doing great!
(Nice mani, Jami)

I know we were too....he had a little form but then today not so much, irritable bowel? He was a bit picky tonight, added some fresh ground I did from beef to his soupie and added more bone meal, just a little. Sorry you have to have surgery around Christmas, Jami gas knee surgery on the 21st so feel for ya. Good luck with the computers

Let's give him a few days on the beef before we think about irritable bowel. New proteins can cause some funky poops too. How long have you had him now? I feel like he's still within the normal detox time, so I'm not too concerned yet.

Ok it's just his poops for detox are so much worse than Gomez. Jax has been ok on beef soupie since Tuesday. We are going to give Gomez turkey tonight so fingers crossed. Jami has her nails done every 2 weeks faithfully lol, they are her nails too not fake ones, she does the aryrlic on top.

This thread was set up on November 10, so Jax has been with you less than a month. Detox can take 6-7 weeks or even longer, and the 'level of detox badness' can vary tremendously.
How did Gomez do with the turkey?

We picked Jax up on Nov 14, and he started that day. I realize he is still detoxing but feel so bad for his little system and butt. His just smells so rancid. Gomez did ok with the turkey has had 2 meals of turkey so let's see how his poops are, little loose....I added some liver since he needed some organ. We are still doing 1 oz chicken soupie and increasing the small chunks and slivers....he keeps swallowing whole, while chewing some up

Detox IS terrible. And I have a theory that the worse the kibble they were on, the worse their detox is. I don't know if that's true or not, but from ferrets I've known/worked with, it seems to be the case. And Jax was on some pretty bad stuff. :/
Gomez did OK!?!? Is there a difference between the kind of turkey this time and the turkey last time?
Tell Gomez he's supposed to be chewing! Try altering the shape of his chunks (longer and thinner) and see if he'll start chewing. And if necessary, hold the pieces. He should be able to eat chunks at least the size of a chicken wing tip now, since he's eating those. I think he's just playing you guys, lol.

It is the same turkey meat for Gomez. We have been alternating the size of his chunks. We have noticed that sometimes when he is working on a wing tip he seems to get tired. Understand that he's working on building those jaw muscles. Totally think he's manipulating us too....stinker! Jax has been doing better last couple days. Still loose but not watery so we feel that's a small improvement. Both have full on nice shiny soft and fluffy winter coats ?makes for nice snuggles

Turkey situation doesn't make any sense to me. I was sure that was the problem before. Maybe he was eating too fast before? My little Minnie Mouse loves boneless chicken cut into little pieces so if I serve that, I really have to watch her, because she will gorge herself and then throw up for the next half hour. It can take a little time to build up jaw strength. Gomez is doing great. Don't you just love winter coats Soft, floofy, huggable... I really would rather be home snuggling the babies than be at work today.
