For Photos, you need to have them on another site like photobucket, or I use google plus. Then copy the image url, and in the Insert Image Window there is an insert image url option, so you just paste it there.

I'll work on the photos later after school.
QUICK UPDATE: My meat came in today, a day early! I ordered from Hare Today and got around 40lbs of meat. It all looks good but wow the duck livers look HUGE and so do the turkey necks. How do you guys cut up neck bones? There's no way I can just give it to Oberyn, the neck is bigger and weighs more than he does lol. Duck bones are about the size I expected them to be, but I'll probably need to cut those as well. Should I thaw the meat before I cut it or is it not safe to thaw and refreeze?

You can thaw and refreeze, this will make it easier to cut up, just try to not let it stay thawed for too long or it can spoil. It may certainly take a day or two for meat to thaw while in a cold fridge (I keep mine around 35 degrees).

Should I thaw the meat before I cut it or is it not safe to thaw and refreeze? That's exciting about all of your new meat. We get more excited over theirs than our own food shopping. Turkey necks are tough. It may be awhile before he can take on something that large. Even turkey wings are big and tough. Do you have a cleaver? Do you have a food processor? You could smash the turkey necks up into tiny pieces and run them through the food processor. That will give Oberyn the taste and some bone nutrients. Then a little late when he has developed more jaw strength, try again. In the meantime, leave one neck for him to play with at night. It will give him some stimulation and practice. He'll gnaw on the meat and fat. You don't want to wast a whole neck. Cut it into a few sections and let him have one section each night. When I shop, I bring home the food and it's usually frozen. I put it in the fridge for awhile and then prep it while it's still half frozen. It goes into the freezer before it's completely defrosted. Jason (bitbyter) has some good info on that. Let me find it and I'll link it for you.

I don't know about putting turkey necks in a processor. I know my processor would just choke and die on them. I crush the bones in the turkey necks with hammer (it's now been solely re-purposed for this ) then you have control over how big they will be, and then I cut the necks into manageable pieces. For cutting you can use a knife or scissors, which are more maneuverable.

I usually just slice the turkey neck into discs and then cut each of those through the center once or twice to break up the bone into smaller pieces the ferrets can easily handle.

It's always great when meat comes a day early. I love when that happens! Chop the turkey necks up in small discs. I bang them when the bottom tip of a cleaver first to break the bone a bit, then slice it. Its honestly best to cut them from fresh then baggy and freeze in my opinion. Good luck!

I actually bought a clever today! And according to amazon my scale will be in tomorrow! I got him to eat a few pieces of cornish game hen, mind you the bones were small and I had to break some of them up for him. He just wants to play right now so I'm gonna take his food away and let him get all tired and hungry then try again later. That sounds a little mean but I heard it works. Putting the duck neck in his cage over night sounds like a good idea. Should I put his kibble away if I do that? By the way, I nearly FAINTED when I got home because I noticed oberyn tore a tac out of tapestry on my wall and I was convinced he had swallowed it, but then I stepped on it like 5 minutes later. He hid it in a corner by my closet. little devil.

Good work on getting a cleaver! ^^ Good Idea on letting him play first! I do that with mine. I feed after play so they tire out and get hungry. Nothing beats a good play, meal then nap! Yes remove the kibble, we want to avoid him filling up on kibble because then he would more than likely will not touch the necks. Oh no! Oberyn! That was a close one! For future, incase he does happen to swallow something, here's the blockage protocol. Make sure you have 100% Pure canned pumpkin and vaseline on hand for emergencies. docs.google.com/document/d/145QYWoTOJlsHViwRrtqDk8wPrFtx9sBxtKU0-sCYtwU/edit

HELP! Oberyn just threw up all of his breakfast. I ran to Walmart and bought some canned pumpkin and Vaseline. When I got home there is what looks to be a fresh stool in his litter but I haven't seen him go since around 7 last night. He's acting totally fine but I'm totally freaked out right now! Please tell me that throwing up doesn't mean he's going to die. I don't have the money for surgery but I will go in debt if it means he can stay a live. :-(

I know you're frightened and we will be here to help support you. Okay, begin the blockage protocol. Give Oberyn one Tablespoon of pumpkin. You may have to syringe it or thin it with some warm water but get it into him. One hour later, give him a teaspoon of vaseline. They actually like vaseline. One hour later, give him a Tablespoon of pumpkin. One hour later, give him a teaspoon of vaseline. If he crashes or begins vomiting, take him to a vet. Ask for a barium xray. That will help push any foreign objects through. Don't make an appointment, just show up at the vet office and explain the situation. Once the first big orange poop arrives, look through it for anything that is a foreign object like material. He will have two or three more orange poops. Heather and Sherry will you post to help Oberyn, please. If Oberyn had not gotten into that stuff last night, I might think he had simply eaten too fast or even had a hair caught in his throat. I don't think you should take any chances in this case. Begin the blockage protocol. Please keep us posted and all my best to you and Oberyn.

I fed him the pumpkin about 20 minutes ago and I'm watching him to make sure he doesn't puke again. If he does puke I am taking him straight to the vet. He's super playful today and seems like nothing is hurting him but I still don't want to risk it. I even skipped class today

There is also the option of him throwing up from eating his food too fast.

There is also the option of him throwing up from eating his food too fast. That's right. I mentioned that to him, but I think he may have gotten into something he should not have. He was messing around with a tapestry. So to be safe, I think a blockage protocol would be in order. I tagged Sherry and Heather to see if they agree.

There is a big possibility that's what happened because I purposely didn't put food in his cage last night so he would be more hungry this morning and try the cornish game hen. He chomped a few boney pieces and all he threw up was the hen, it wasn't even bile, just whole pieces of the hen. So that's definitely a logical possibility but I still don't want to take any chances. With all the research and money and effort I've put into this little guy, I will be damned if I let anything take him away from me after only a week of buying him.
