Bomber is at the vet for surgery to have a dead canine removed. He also pooped blood on me while I was holding him talking to the vet. This has never happened with him before, and I checked all the poops at home and they were normal. At least he is at the best place right now for that to happen. Vet said the blood might just be from stress, but I am still kinda freaking out and could use some prayers/good thoughts right now. I should hear something this afternoon. Thank you everyone.

Best Wishes for little Bomber! Yeah, the bad poops are likely a combination from the tooth and the stress from it --

AWE POOR BOY! Prayers are with you baby. I think I'm going to have take Timmy to have a tooth removed too. his teeth are great since the switch to raw but he broke one of his canines and I think it broke short enough to actually do some damage and kill the tooth. The vet thought it didn't break so short to do that, but I guess it turned out it was. I hope he's ok and hopefully he'll have his new bedding to come home to when he's better. Which, I am don BTW and will be shipping it out to you as soon as my boxes come in. I hope the little guy is ok.

Aww I'm sorry to hear that, good thoughts coming your way for Bomber. Try not to stress too much till you hear from the vet, which I know is horridly hard to do.

Just got the call that Bomber is out of surgery and did great! I will be picking him up shortly. Thank you all who prayed and sent good vibes for him! And yay! Thank you Virginia! I'm sure he and the other weezies will love the new comfy bedding! Can't wait to get it. And I don't know what vet you go to but if you're willing to drive, Dr. Gadd at Animal Doctors of Gray is AWESOME and totally worth seeing. I'd definitely recommend her. How does Timmy's tooth look? If it's discolored, then it probably is dead or dying and needs to be checked out. If they kept Bomber's tooth, I'll have to take a pic of it.

Good to hear he did well. Hope it doesn't cause too many issues for him eating raw.

It shouldn't. They just use the canines to grasp and hold prey. They use the back teeth to scissor of bits to swallow I'm so glad Bomber came through his surgery so well!

Thanks so much everyone! Mr. Snaggletooth is home now! He raised some h*ll on the ride home, hissing and clawing and biting at the bars. I kept telling him, "Bomber, quit that, you just had surgery!" He seemed disoriented when I put him in the ferret room though. Walked around for a bit and then just laid down in the floor. So I picked him up and put him in my lap and he fell asleep. Poor guy, he's had a big day! He does look rather odd now, because his bottom canine now sticks out over his lip. So funny! I'll have to take a pic. I also got his tooth, which is super cool. Maybe I'll make it into a necklace. He isn't quite used to having no tooth there now, so he keeps licking his chops.

That's him coming out of anesthetic. Poor wee lad. Do keep an eye on him and make sure his canine doesn't slice into his lip. We had to do some dental work with Odin to prevent his bottom tooth from slicing his upper lip to pieces after his adventure of the cage wars ciao

Oh I will, I've already been pulling his lip back down over his tooth as that does concern me some. I hope it won't need to be filed down. Now you've got me wondering what exactly the "cage wars" were. lol!

Like a good 2-3 hour trip. Timmy HATE the carrier and freaks out and bites the door. I don't need a 3 hour trip for him to break another tooth. I DO have a good exotics vet here in the Athens area that is LITERALLY right down the road from my house. I really like her and she's supportive of my raw feeding. She was the ONLY vet who was able to diagnose Timmy's intestinal bugs. The other vets didn't have a clue! I DEF know his tooth needs to go. He broke it biting the cage. The DUM-DUM. But yeah you can see where it turning kinda purple/black under the enamel. I'm gonna try and call the vet in the am and find out how much it will cost. About how much did it cost for Bomber?

We spent about $150, and it's looking like I'm going to have to go back and spend more because his tooth is stabbing his lip. It's a bit red this morning. However, he is acting like he's feeling better! I'm just not happy about his lip, it's hard enough for me to go up there with my school schedule and I got lucky to get him done yesterday since my math class was cancelled. Now I wish I had told them to file it while he was already under... if I had known it would happen. Grrr.
