I agree. It still hasn't sunk in yet, and I'm terrified of Marty going under anesthesia tomorrow, he's old and the risk is scary. This is true. However, with all the bad stories of ferrets and anesthesia, there are just as many that we don't hear about older ferrets who do fine. Marty needs the MCTs removed and this is the only way to do it. Think positive and try not to worry. Hugs to both of you.

I will soon, if my mind and body decide to give my poor battered heart a rest

Benadryl makes me sleep for forever. I'd end up sleeping past feeding time lol I'll probably put my favorite lullaby on repeat and let that shut my mind off. Ibuprofen will help with the body

So I've hit another snag. I need to stay awake until my mom gets off work so I can see if I can get a ride from her, or help with a housemate's gas money. The housemate is fine with taking me, but they're running on empty. Netflix time... Ugh.

So I underestimated the amount in my bank account. Everything will work out, even with having to choose my worst option.

He will be fine In most cases many just need a slight sedation to remove this! Just enough to put them under and then bring them back out. One of mine with pancreatic cancer did well with it Look at it as a simple mole removal. For people they normally just freeze the area and remove. But most ferrets won't hold still for it so need a slight sedation. He will FLY through this!

I got Marty back an hour earlier than I was told. 3 tumors were removed, and the only problem was that they bled badly. The vet said cauterizing powder did the trick. He gave me a tin of Hills Prescription Diet Urgent Care with Chicken and told me to mix a little bit of ferretone in it and syringe feed Marty until he goes for his usual food. Ingredients are pork liver, poultry liver, chicken, corn flower, pork protein isolate, fish oil, chicken liver flavor ( ), and then mineral ingredients. Should I do this? He turns away from gizzards, which is what's in their bowl right now. Should I give him time to recover from the anesthesia, should I feed him the can of food, or should I try to get him to eat diced up gizzard? He seems to open his mouth like he's chewing for a minute then turns away. Or he grabs it, puts it down, then turns away. He threw up twice, it was a small amount of clear-ish goop that looks like really thick dog drool.
