I'm glad that everyone understands how important it is. That's hilarious that you guessed Patterdale! He is a mutt so we have no real idea but he looks like a patterdale. Here is a picture of him. I'm sorry your still at the docs. I hope everything is okay. An ounce is a good amount for 1/2 and 1/2 for one meal. I'm happy with that. My guys ate better for my fiance too, no idea why.

Hahaha he does look like a Patterdale!
My finger isn't broken just really really bruised. They basically did a more professional job of what I'd already done to it but at least I know it's not broken. I'm back home watching my sister feed Leo in jealousy lol she's actually getting him to eat... I guess because she doesn't spend as much time with him he tries harder to please her. But he's eating, that's the important thing xx

He's eating my himself at the moment. I spoon fed him a little bit and he's gone back to it to eat some more. This is a 1/3 chicken, 2/3 lamb mix. He keeps poofing though. Dunno why. xx

Interesting. All of mine are descented. Farm ferrets here for the most part. No idea why he would poof though. Maybe he really likes it and want to scare d everyone off?! Lol.
We are almost there to start his trial. Keep good track of his poos as we get him off chicken.

Lol maybe I'm not sure.
Definitely. At the moment they're dark green and sort of long. They're not anywhere near as loose as they were on just straight chicken. It's giving me hope it may be simply a chicken allergy. But we'll see what happens once we get rid of chicken altogether and run the trial xx

Ok today he took a 1/4 chicken mix. Tomorrow will be straight lamb. But I'm not going to be here during the day for the next three days. Going to excel in London. my sister will be feeding Leo. I'm expecting some changes to his poop from the change in routine but I'll get her to monitor him and fill out his diary with as much detail as she can so I can keep an eye xx

Sounds good! I'm glad you are keeping track. If you can't check in, no worries. Just let me know how everything goes when you can. I'm glad his poos are becoming somewhat normal. Remember any change in protein can cause weird poos. The first time I served frog legs everyone had grayish poos.

Got a minute to write a quick update. Poops are looking good. Green still, but a normal shape and not much mucous. But I think all of them will be from 1/4 chicken still until later this morning. He's on nothing but lamb soupie from this morning xx

Fantastic. We can start again with trying to add slivers if you want during the protein trial. This way he still moves forward while we fix his tummy.

Will do but since my sister is feeding him at the moment I'll wait until I get back xx

Ok I'm back. Tomorrow I'll do his weight and everything and I'll start adding slivers into his lamb soupie to see if we can get him eating lamb. Poops are still Green but decidedly less so than they were xx

That's good. Lets give it a good two weeks of full lamb, if they don't start getting better we need to start thinking about the fact that it could be IBD, but since they are getting better I'm thinking allergy/sensitivity.

Yeah me too. Hopefully it is just a chicken sensitivity. Going to run the full length. In the meantime I'm going to start re-training him to eat chunks of meat. I don't think he'll get to the bone stage while we're running the first 2 weeks anyway so it'll be ok I think... Then maybe after we'll introduce a protein of which he can eat the bones... But I'm getting ahead of myself. xx

Its always good to plan ahead. If you want we can definitely try another protein after the lamb with bones.. I think quail or partridge would be good. These are game birds, are often not antibiotic fed and have smaller bones for ferrets.

Yeah I was thinking quail. Might be good. But we'll see what I can get my hands on! Got a while to think about it anyway Xx
