That's a great picture. Hooray for Woody and Godiva.
Their weights seem good. Your last weigh in was March 9th. Since then: Bentley was 1lb 14oz, so a spring weight lost of less than point two ounces Snowy was 2lb 12 ounces, his spring weight loss is .5ounces Woody was not with you on March 9th Penny was 1lb 6 ounces and is still 1lb 6 ounces
Hershey was 2lbs 10.5 ounces and his spring weight loss is a little under point 8 ounces. I'd consider that simply a spring weight loss. If you are worried, weigh him every three days and see how he does.
Yogi was 2 lbs 4 ounces and his spring weight loss is point 2 ounces Nestle was 1lb 12 ounces and his spring weight loss is point 2ounces Godiva was 1 lb 8ounces and she has put on weight at 1lb 10.5 ounces
Everything seems good and normal.

I most likely won't be able to go to the asian supermarket today, but I'll go to the grocery store and get chicken and whatever else they have. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get to the asian supermarket and stock up more.

Sounds good. After you get back from the market, we can talk about a menu plan. :wave2:

Alright, I just went to the Asian market. I got whole duck(including the head and feet!), pork shoulder, pork bones(for bone broth and the dogs), pork heart, and rabbit. I had a $30 limit so I couldn't get as much as I'd like. I'll try to put together a menu including those things

Great, that was a good shopping trip. How is everyone doing? How's Bentley's BG?

They're all doing well. Bentley's BG has been pretty stable, although low. It's been around 50-60. He's on about half of the pred he was on before. We slowly reduced it to give him a break. It was way too stressful for him. At this point, it's just about keeping him stable. I've been checking his BG twice a week to make sure he's okay. I'm trying to very slowly increase it back to the old dose now. He's doing better with eating as well. He's even eating some kibble(of course that's not great, but I'm happy when he eats anything on his own). i just made pork soupie and cut up pork slivers for them. They all(except Bentley) ate it really well when I gave it to them. It was about 50% slivers. I haven't portioned out all of the meat that I got yet. The duck is a little freaky so I've been trying to delay it, but I'll probably do it tomorrow. They can have the head, right? I know they're not ready for it yet, but I'm just curious about how that would work. Would I have to cut it open or smash it up or anything like that?

You know, I haven't tried duck head yet. Let me post to the Mentors board and see what the senior mentors say about it. I know they can have it, I just don't know how to prepare it.
I'm glad Bentley is staying stable.
It sounds like your routine is returning to normal.

I heard back from Bitbyter and Heather about the Duck Head.
Bitbyter says:
Chop it in half and see if they will eat it. Mine eat quail heads and rodent heads but I had no luck with rabbit heads. They just dragged it around and played with it.
Heather said:
Try cutting it in half. I have to admit that rodent heads, chicks....no problem but rabbit and guinea pig were related to being play toys ciao
I can't wait to hear how the head goes over (dance)

I don't think they're ready for the head yet, but when they are, I'll cut it in half. I think I'll probably have to get a cleaver to do that anyway. I only have basic knives now. And if they don't like it, its not a big loss anyway since its not something I paid extra for.
Tomorrow is Snowy's first birthday! I'm thawing some rabbit for him to have as his special birthday meal

Aww...Happy Birthday to Snowy.
Could you build a menu plan. It's good practice. Maybe start it either Saturday or Sunday. You know the format. Since Heather will approve the final menu for your graduation, remember that she doesn't like to see too much chicken. She wants to know what protein and whether it's a Bone In or Muscle meat meal. She also looks to see if you understand the organ meals.
How is everyone else doing? Are you seeing any spring changes in weight or appetite. How about color changes in their coats.

Of course; I will have a menu some time tomorrow.
I haven't noticed much. Except Snowy. He's slimmed down so much and his fur isn't so thick. He's like a lanky teenage ferret right now. Everyone else is pretty much the same.
Penny has been having some diarrhea for the past few days. I thought it wasn't a big deal because it wasn't watery or anything, just a little loose. But today, she started pooping blood. It didn't start until after the vet was closed. It's not a lot, just a little mixed into her poo. I texted the vet and he put her on metronidazole twice a day for a week. And I'll bring her to see him on Monday. The metro, of course, was awful giving to her. She tried to spit it at me and then started drooling. I gave her water and some soupie, then she was fine. Hopefully it will help her.

Oh, poor Penny. I hope the meds help. Did the vet say what he thought it might be? Try syringing some water first and then syringe the Met into the syringe. Her first taste will be water. You can have a second syringe ready and syringe water after the Met, to wash away the nasty taste. What has she been eating lately? Were her last meals organ meals?
Snowy has such a beautiful face. He looks like a whippet body type.
How is Godiva doing? Is she making friends? Is Penny being nice to her?

He didn't say anything specific, but I assume he's thinking an infection. I also dropped off a sample for him to look at but I haven't heard the results yet. She's still mostly just eating soupie, so I don't think it's that. Her poop seems mostly normal, so I think the antibiotics are helping.
Godiva is doing well. Penny doesn't seem to care about her at all. I think Penny has given up on that. She actually seems to like Nestle now. How have yours been doing with Keller lately?

It sounds like the antibiotics are working. I hope the vet has good news and it's a simple fix. I'm glad to hear that all is going well with Godiva and Penny. That's quite a bunch of characters, you have.
We're making slow and steady progress. At night, we separate Roamy and Juliet, and leave Keller on the opposite floor, usually with Mika and Wynstan. At some point, everyone moves around. Paul is usually up later than me. In the morning, I open the house now and after I release the Krakons, Roamy and Juliet look for Keller. They make her scream for a minute or two and then leave her alone. She stays out of sight for awhile and then gets up and cautiously looks around. I think they are also losing interest in her. We go on vacation in August and I want them integrated before they go off to Ferret Camp.
I'm not sure that I mentioned this, but they go to Ohio and stay with PVO Ferrets. She has a ferret cam up and you can watch her new litters of baby meepers. They are adorable. Pam is wonderful. She was featured on the PBS documentary, Ferrets; The pursuit of excellence. It's a fun watch.
