The pictures are wonderful. Woody is adorable and Bentley simply has my heart. I love that boy. I'm terribly sorry about the Lymphoma. That was what took my heart ferret Ponce. There isn't much that can help, but you can spend time with him, let him know he is loved and give him hugs and kisses.
Milk thistle really does help. My husband takes it. During his executive years, there was alot of meetings over cocktails and everyone was into fine wine. He started taking Milk thistle and his numbers improved greatly.
As for oil, we recommend 1/3 tsp every 3 days. One thing that you could do, is put the oil into a spray bottle and mist your leg. That will reduce the amount. He needs those fluids, so if his poops are staying firm enough, a little more than the recommended amount shouldn't hurt. Just keep an eye out. Too loose poops may dehydrate him or cause a rectal prolapse.
How's everyone coming along with bones? I just found a great way to get Keller to eat bones. She's a good eater but has been slow with bones. So is Mika. What I've been doing is chopping up the bones and then putting them into a food processor. Then I put that in a plate and put bigger pieces on top. Everyone is eating very well that way. Do you have a food processor? It's strange but mine are eating much more than they did over the winter.
How is Woody doing with everyone? Any intro issues?
You gotta love a pile of floofy bums. :wave2:

Bentley really is such a special little one. He's actually been just licking the bottle of the salmon oil today while I give him his fluids, so he's not getting much at all. He's so good. I just have to give him the oil while I put the needle in and then I can cuddle him and he doesn't care. He was playing a bit today! I was so surprised since he's been so tired lately. I really think he is improving, even though the vet said the chances of that are low. He even seems to be less yellow. He has been eating a bit on his own too, although not much so I'm still feeding him every three hours. I still haven't seen him drink water though, so he's still getting the fluids twice a day. I'm going to get the milk thistle tomorrow, so hopefully that will help even more. At this point, I'm not doing raw with Bentley. He just gets stressed trying to spit out the soupie and wiggle away. So he's getting a soupie of nature's variety canned rabbit and lamb(both 95% meat) and the carnivore care. He still doesn't like it much, but he doesn't struggle as much. If/when he starts getting better, I will start mixing the raw soup into that so he'll hopefully switch over then. I haven't been pushing the slivers and bones as much lately because of all the stuff going on with Bentley. But they have been having some. I think my ninja master prep is both a blender and a food processor? I'm not actually sure. I've been just putting bony pieces in there though. It's impressive what it can handle. Woody is doing well with them all. No one seems to care that hes there. Even Penny was grooming him earlier. I really like him, but I don't know if I should keep him He's been eating so much, although not raw yet. I've been trying some soupie with him, but he's been surprisingly difficult. I think he'll get it soon though, and then he'll be eating lots of that. He ate some egg with Snowy and Nestle earlier. I'm still working on getting the others to eat the eggs too.

I'm wishing on Ponce's star that little Bentley does well. He is such a sweetheart. At this point, let's just get nutrition and calories in him. Do whatever you need to, to get his tummy filled.
At four months, Woody will eat alot. I'm so happy for both of you, that everyone is being so good with him.
You're moving along nicely, especially since you have so many with such different needs. Just for practice sake, why don't you try building a Frankenprey menu. You don't have to follow it yet, but let's see where you are at in understanding it and then I can tweak it or explain anything that you don't understand.
Use a format like the one that we'll submit to Heather for approval. She will look for at least three proteins, not heavy on chicken.
It should follow a format like this:
Sunday: a.m. Bone In (type of protein) p.m. Muscle meat (type of protein)
Remember you want 7-9 meals of Bone In 3-4 meals of Muscle meat (1 full meal of hearts) One Organ meal of liver plus another Organ One Organ meal of liver plus another organ and a half meal of hearts.
This is just for practice, so don't stress over it.
It's the weekend and I hope you have something fun to do. :wave2:

Alright, I made a menu. Sunday: AM: muscle - ground turkey PM: organ - deer liver + pork uterus/kidney Monday: AM: bone in - quail PM: bone in - CGH Tuesday: AM: bone in - chicken PM: muscle - ground pork Wednesday: AM: bone in - chicken PM: heart - chicken hearts Thursday: AM: bone in - quail PM; bone in - rabbit Friday: AM: bone in - CGH PM: heart + organ - chicken hearts + deer liver + pork uterus/kidney Saturday: AM: bone in - chicken PM: muscle - chicken thigh That's not too heavy on chicken, right? They're having pork soupie right now, which seems to be their least favorite, but they eat it. I'm leaving for France on Friday. I'll be there for a week. My mom agreed to give them FDR and possibly some soupie. She's going to feed Bentley at least every four hours and give him the fluids. Hopefully nothing happens and they're all good while I'm gone.

You're menu looks very good. You clearly understand the frankenprey model.
My only tweak would be to remove the chicken thighs (under muscle meat) and replace that with a red meat. Beef or lamb would work. You could do a ground beef with egg or a fatty cut of chuck roast. Beef is a strong flavor but they will get use to it. Lamb can be pricey, but in the spring, it's a little less. The menu was for practice, so shoot you could feed fois gras on an imaginary menu, lol. Red meat is high in iron and vitamin B.
I know that you will have a wonderful time in Paris. Can you fit me into your suitcase? I'd give anything to go to Paris. How is your French? Did you study any in school.
Tell your Mom that I will keep an eye out and if she has any questions, just post them on your thread. We'll all make sure that she is okay and so are the little ones.

Alright, we can change that to lamb. I plan to try to get some soon anyway.
I actually don't know any French, so it'll be interesting. My friends all know at least some so they can help a bit at least. I'll let her know to come on here if she needs anything.
Poor Bentley has been hating his pred lately for some reason. He pooped on me yesterday when I gave it to him. I'm going to try to water it down and put it with some soupie to see if that helps. Hopefully he'll be good for my mom while I'm gone.
I've been giving them FDR now to make sure they're all eating it before I leave. They seem to like it just as much as the soupie.

April in Paris, sigh...
Try syringing up a little warm water and then syringe his meds into the same syringe. His first taste will be water. It helps to have a second syringe ready with water and wash some of the nasty taste away.
I bought a french language tape once. I thought that I would listen to it every night before I went to sleep. I know five sentences and then I would fall asleep. So much for subliminal learning.
Have a safe trip and we'll catch up when you return. :wave2:

I'm home! I'll post pictures when I stop being lazy and go on my computer.
Not much has changed since I left. Bentley doesn't need any sub q fluids anymore and he's eating the carnivore care on his own! Yogi no longer has a rat tail! He has also gained weight. Woody is even chunkier and has been eating lots. He also has been chewing on the others ears for some reason. Penny has gotten really fluffy! She's also gained weight, I think. My mom has been working with Godiva and she's not biting as much. Hershey has been biting me since I got home. I think he might just be upset that I left. Nestle and Snowy are still the same.
My mom hasn't been giving them the soupie(she thinks it's 'too gross') but she bought some of the natures variety instinct frozen raw rabbit and has been giving that to them.
I'm gonna try to weigh them all later and take pictures.

Welcome home. I hope you had a wonderful time. I'm glad the babies are all doing fine. Now that you're home and they are over the excitement, they will probably pout, to let you know they were displeased by you leaving them.
Woody sounds like he is reverting back a little and chewing on ears as a security behavior. It may stop now that you are home. He's not hurting them is he? Check everyone's ear and see if they need to be cleaned.
Good for Bentley. The Carnivore Care should provide some extra nutrients for him.
Penny may have her seasons backwards. A fluffier coat and a weight gain sounds more like she thinks it's winter. Juliet had her seasons backwards, her first year. Then again, it might just be that she is getting good nutrition and filling out some.
Yeah for no Rat Tail. Yogi will be very proud of his new look.
Godiva sounds like she is feeling secure and learning her social manners. All of mine were overexcited when they arrived and bit a little much. Once they became secure and learned that humans don't play as rough, they all calmed down.
Nestle and Snowy sound like pretty mellow ferrets. Low maintenance and sweethearts.
Hugs to all and when you settle in, you'll have to tell me the highlights of your trip. :wave2:

It's tough getting back into everything after being in France. I miss it already.
We saw most of the 'famous' things. The Eiffel Tower, Musee D'Orsay, the Louvre, Notre Dame, the D-Day Beaches, the Arc de Triomphe, the lock bridges, and we did a cruise on the Seine River. There's probably more I'm forgetting. I still haven't put my pictures on my computer, but I'll show you them when I do.
I have to make a run to the asian store again soon. I'm hoping to get more rabbit and maybe some lamb and pigeon/partridge. I think I'm going next Tuesday. We'll see what I can get.
I've been a bit lazy with the slivers, but we'll get back into it soon. I've been just giving them an ounce or so of slivers with four ounces of soup. I'm hoping to start weighing how much they eat again soon. I still need to weigh them all as well.

It all sounds so wonderful. One of these days, I'll get to Paris.
It takes a few days to catch up and get back to your routine. When you're ready, and have done some shopping, post a menu for me and their weights. With Spring here, you can expect some weight loss.

I just hooked a quail in their cage again, to see what they'd do, and Woody and Godiva were in love! I definitely didn't expect Woody to eat it. And weights! Bentley - 1 lb 12.5 oz (I forget what he was at the vet a few weeks ago, but it was less than that) Snowy - 2 lb 7 oz Woody - 2 lb 14.5 oz (he was 2 lb 5 oz when I got him a few weeks ago) Penny - 1 lb 6 oz Hershey - 2 lb 3.5 oz Yogi - 2 lb 2 oz Nestle - 1 lb 10 oz Godiva - 1 lb 10.5 oz I'm a little concerned about Hershey's weight loss, but I know it's probably just seasonal. I'm going to try to test his BG just in case, especially since it seems like all of my older babies are insulinomic.
