Some of you know Juliet's story, but for those who don't, here it is.
Juliet was my 3rd ferret, my little DEW. I adopted her 2 years ago, she was the type of ferret that didn't bite, didn't miss the litter box, and never really learned how to war dance. She was the one that gave kisses and followed me around, my little sweetheart.
In March of this year she was diagnosed with Adrenal, and she had an unsuccessful surgery to remove the tumor. In October Juliet was diagnosed with Insulinoma. BG in the 60's & 70's, she was on Prednisone and seemed to be doing okay. On Thursday, she had a seizure. After she wouldn't come out of it, we rushed her to the ER Vet. They gave a Dexamethasone shot and she seemed to be feeling better. A few hours later she went downhill, then she felt better, then she went downhill.. and she kept going downhill. With every hour that passed she seemed to get worse, we were trying to hold on until morning so my Vet could see her.
Her breathing was hard, she didn't want to eat, she could barely walk and with every other breath she would whine. It was time, Juliet wasn't a fighter when it came to family, but she fought this, until she let me know it was time to rest. At 5:30am we took her back to the ER Vet, and at 7:00am after much trouble with her heart cath and sedative, they did a heart stick on her, she was fulled sedated. Caillou, her bestest friend, and Marcie, her new friend, were there with her. Caillou nudged her to get up, he never liked seeing her tired, but I just held him and told him she wasn't tired anymore.
I'm so thankful for the time I had with her, she was an awesome ferret and I loved her so much, and I miss her so much, but now she is up dooking and fighting over toys with Neichei, and meeting Adrian. It was a rough time but it was more than worth it.
Until we meet again,
