1. oh no why didnt u ask what could i use in place of hearts or how much taurine goes in a soupie---- evidently the wine---- 1 capsule =1/8 teaspoon-----but how often to feed contents of capsule? (will never forget answer after this) 2. too much bone and poops can be dry and hard / too little bone and stools will be loose or runny 3. they should have a minimum of 3 different proteins in their weekly menu---this includes Bi, mm and would be good to include heart and organ ---but because of availability some just use poultry heart and organs ---Hope i understood what you were saying on last part. 4. organ should be 10%, which would be 5% liver and 5% kidney, lung, thymus or other secreting tissue. Hearts should be 10% 5.Gizzard is a muscle meat 6. every 12 hours or twice a day (mine likes snacks in between ) 7. ferrets need fattier meats, because they get energy from fat

:goodjob: Congratulations  You've graduated and you're ready to walk this path alone. You have the foundation to help you feed your fuzzes in a more natural and healthy manner. Please remember that your learning never stops, and dietary needs change from ferret to ferret and throughout each their lives. I would like you to be aware that though you now have the capability and the knowledge to create your little ones diets you are never alone and that your mentor (you need only pm) is always available to you. The list is also a very good resource and you should always be aware that it's available to answer any questions you may have either about diet or care. In your menu you do have space to add another bone in meat if your little ones require it. Good luck, in a few days Sherry will lock down this thread and place it in the archives but be aware that you can always look through it as a reference tool but you just will not be able to post to it. Your mentor will be in to congratulate you shortly ciao

Yay! Great job! Just a couple things on the test: 1. oh no why didnt u ask what could i use in place of hearts or how much taurine goes in a soupie---- evidently the wine---- 1 capsule =1/8 teaspoon-----but how often to feed contents of capsule? (will never forget answer after this) It has to be the wine You are correct in your answer, here is the rest: 500mg of taurine is equivalent to ⅛ teaspoon, 500 mg per ferret per day. 2. too much bone and poops can be dry and hard / too little bone and stools will be loose or runny Perfect3. they should have a minimum of 3 different proteins in their weekly menu---this includes Bi, mm and would be good to include heart and organ ---but because of availability some just use poultry heart and organs ---Hope i understood what you were saying on last part. Basically correct. The most variety is always best. More specifically we are looking for BI should really be where your main variety comes from 4. organ should be 10%, which would be 5% liver and 5% kidney, lung, thymus or other secreting tissue. Hearts should be 10% Bonus points for 'secreting' organs! Perfect!!5.Gizzard is a muscle meat Yay!6. every 12 hours or twice a day (mine likes snacks in between ) That is the bare-minimum and really mainly how often new food should be offered. Really every 4 hours is the correct answer here, but that's okay 7. ferrets need fattier meats, because they get energy from fat Exactly! Fat = Engery! Lucky ferts...Great job Debra! It really has been a pleasure and a learning experienced. You were my first with any kind of health issue and my first mentee with a protein trial. I am glad we were both able to learn a lot! I hope to still see you around the forum and see pics of the girls! Feel free to PM me any time!
