As long as it doesn't seem to stress them, the seperation for poop checks isn't a bad idea. And I know it is going to be harder to get the right amount of BI while doing this trial, so using bonemeal powder is okay. Just base it off poops. Another mentor was talking about how she keeps it in a salt shaker and just adds a bit if poops are loose and adds more if poops are runny. Makes sense. Of course having the 'real thing' is always best (same with the taurine vs. heart) but it is certainly better than nothing! Those chunks look perfect. How is her energy? Poops still look okay? I am thinking pheasant we are going to be able to add to the safe list. :0) Maybe tomorrow afternoon (that will make enough meals of all pheasant) you can switch her back to lamb for that and the morning meal and then by the next afternoon start adding in the pork. And we can work on whole pray after the trial. Then you will be ready to graduate!

AHHH I read that as Anna first and I was like "AHHHH NO CHICKEN!!!" haha
Poor Abbs, yeah the more bloody organs def make it more black and loose. Maybe try sprinkling some bonemeal on next time. And 1 may be all she can handle, just make sure it consists of about 10% of her weekly diet total.

yes i was going to give her one small one a day and missed giving it to her. I thought i would catch up, but that is not how it is going to work i think you told me one time before not to give hearts as a snack----- (headwall)Next time i will put it with her boney meal. I don't think I will ever forget that piece of information again

That's right! Yeah just cause it makes it harder to keep track of amount and poops will get runny

annabelle is not wanting to eat lamb soupies. She would not eat supper. I put lamb slivers in it. I tried to handfed her. since she hasnt ate pork before this may not go too good, either. we will see wed. morning. I got porkchops--i guess that will be fine. I know this is probably worrisome to u too.

Poor baby is tired of lamb. Worse case, if she won't eat it again tomorrow, I sapost we know pheasant is okay. The only negative is it isn't our control. Keep pushing the darn lamb and we will see. Also, you can feed liver a bit at a time if needed. I had to do that for a while when mine were not eating it well.

ok ---i did go in her room and daub her mouth several times with lamb and some pork shavings after my post.
Last night she was snuggled up in a warm blankie. almost scared to reach my hands in there to get her, she is a biting machine. If i do things she does not like i get a bite. a live mouse would not have a chance, but i could not watch --when i sweep floor she goes after broom---do not straighten out bedding if she is in the same spot. movement drives her a little wild
Well she would not eat soupie with pork this morn---even warmed ,but she ate rabbit----sorry things are not going as planned (headwall)
I do not know what to do in these cases----just make her hold out ?
abbey ate at some rabbit kidneys. i think that was what the two little things were that came attached inside rabbit

She is being a little pill isn't she. My first instinct tells me to keep up the lamb only until she eats it. Luckily she is young and much less likely to have any kind of underlying issues. If it was old girl Abbey I'd be afraid to 'make' her eat something and risk her going without for too long. How is she doing on the Rabbit? I would keep pushing the lamb soup. If she doesn't eat it after a day or so, feel free to give in, but it is best to keep the control the same. I am sorry you have having such issues with her biting. Sounds like you know what her triggers are though and can avoid it.
