Hello again If he's eating small chunks, let's start gradually weaning him off of the soup. Start increasing the number of chunks and decreasing the amount of soup.

I just realized that the rest of the soup cubes have gone bad... even though they were in the freezer. I don't have any chicken left and my parents are at the cottage so I'll have to wait until they are back. I'm pretty sure they get back on Sunday or Monday so Cloud won't have to wait too long.

Do you have any chicken that you could sliver up and try with him?

No, no chicken at all.

How is the switch going now? Were you able to get anything else to help?

Hello, sorry. I've been on vacation for the past few days at my cottage and got back last night. My parents picked up some raw chicken meat before we left but I haven't had a chance to make Cloud's soup until today.

Hello again I hope you enjoyed your vacation.. vacations are wonderful! So where are you with the soup? Is he eating just soup, or small chunks now?

He is eating the soup and most of the small chunks. Over the next week I would like to get him eating some larger chunks.

Alright then, to get him eating larger chunks you're going to have to work your way up from the size he's eating now. Each meal increase the size of the chunks A TINY BIT, and decrease the amount of soup he gets with it A TINY BIT. You may need to sit with him and hand feed some chunks to get him started, but hopefully it won't take too long to get him used to chewing his food.

I ran out of soup today but I will try to make some more tonight or tomorrow. I also ran out of kibble, should I buy another bag or take it away completely?

That depends on how much kibble he is eating and how much soup he it eating. If he's eating at least 1.5 ounces twice a day (for a total of 3 oz/day) you can stop giving kibble. But if you don't have the kibble, you'll have to really be diligent about making sure you have enough meat in the house for him ALL THE TIME! And he'll have to work up to whole chunks and bone pretty soon. This summer has seemed to be a little spotty for you being able to work with him, so hopefully you'll be able to work with him more diligently now that school has started again.
Is he making any headway with the chunks in the soup?

Not really, he just likes to chew on the larger pieces a bit and then runs back to the bowl of soup. He is only eating about 0.7 oz of actual meat in the soup each meal so I don't think he's ready to lose the kibble completely. The store was closed today so I can go tomorrow to pick up some more kibble.
Tomorrow and the next day are going to be nice, weather wise, so we are going to the cottage for a night. I'm going to leave Cloud at home because I can't bring the soup with me as we don't have a fridge and the soup goes bad in the cooler.

I am back from my cottage now. I will start Cloud on soup again tonight. I haven't really been keeping record of Cloud's progress with the food journal but I will be starting that up again tomorrow.

Hi Cloud should by all rights be at least on large chunks by now. Are there any issues happening that we can help you with?
