i know what's like to tipe a mile long post and find it in error. it happens occasionaly. funky poops are from organs, meat and eggs, and you should expect it every time when they eat did they accept the beef good? you can always put few bigger pieces on a side along the size of a pieces they are used to eat. let me know how it goes

They did enjoy the beef! I was surprised that they ate any of it. I think Percy likes mice better though.
I also discovered that funky poops may have been caused by someone getting into the bag of treats (hem hem!) and knocking them down for everyone to share. Thankfully I caught them before they could eat too many.
They've been a bit slower lately, but it's been really cold! Brrr!

hahaha, clever little buggers is it possible to write down what do they eat every day in the week? we can also see if you can add something new to them. that would be great. they really advanced a lot

Yes, I will try to get a better schedule written down to keep track of their meals. I'm not looking forward to tonight's task- I got 10 pounds of chicken pieces to chop up!

The chopping actually didn't go so bad! The beef tongue was a lot harder LOL. It took about an hour to get everything chopped and bagged, but it'll really save time for meals. Now I have a big piece of boneless pork to do next. I'm kind of procrastinating on that bit. Not much else to report really, they are eating well, if a bit less than usual. I'm still keeping track of food to report at the end of the week

chopping meat is almost whole day bussiness for me, but it's easier when i'm giving them their meals. i don't have to work too hard every day my 4 are eating less too for the last 2 weeks, the weather is changing every day here and i suppose it's because of that. i'm looking forward to see their menu!

I wish I could find a whole day to set aside! Right now that just doesn't happen! I don't ever get more than a few hours free. I'm eagerly awaiting winter bread
On the plus side, I just got a whole bunch of meat (venison, and some liver, and I'm not sure what else) for free! A lady was cleaning out her freezer and was just going to throw it away, but she gave it to me instead.
My dad also said he was going to get some squirrels for me too. I've heard they should be frozen first to kill off parasites, how long should I freeze them for? 2 weeks?

you should freeze venison for at least 2 weeks for parasites, but i think i was reading something about squirrels are not good for ferrets bc of some bacteria or something, i will ask senior mentors about that and let you know. did you wrote your menu? if you will feed them with mices, even occasionaly, we have to do some modification of weekly menu to be balanced. i'm going to ask about the squirrel and write down

Thank you! I will be sure read through that doc when I get a spare moment. It's almost midnight here, but I wanted to pop in and let you know I saw your replies and am not ignoring you I will post the menu soon, I'm so stressed with school and work..I'm about falling asleep typing, haha I'm not sure if I will be on tomorrow....I'm driving out of town to rescue a ferret. Apparently the owner's ex-wife has it and she forgets to feed it. Poor dude, I hope he's in okay shape.

For whatever reason, the owner backed out at the last minute. So no new fuzzy here. My best friend got married this weekend, so I was helping with wedding preparations, to the dismay of my fuzzies. Since I wasn't home (and BF leaves feeding up to me) they only got kibble Friday/Saturday/Sunday. The days before that they've been on kibble during the day and raw in the evening. They really haven't been eating much still, of either kibble or raw. Still drinking and pooping fine though. I think since I'm not home a ton at this point, I might want to at least leave kibble available to them, and feed meals in the AM and PM. They had a big bowl of mice last night though :-) Everyone was chowing down when I put them to bed (didn't want mice all over their room HAHA!) I'm hoping there will be no mice left when I see them tonight. I just started my 3 week teaching placement, so I don't get to see them in the mornings :-( I have to leave at 6:30am, ughhh. Thankfully my work is flexible and I'm not working much in the evenings, so I will be able to spend some time with them at night.

i'm so sorry your scedule is so full and you don't have a chance to rest some more at home about the meals, you can give them only 2 meals a day, AM and PM, and you can left some kibble in the meanwhile if you're feeling safer. but there's no need, 2 meals a day are enough for them.they eat bigger pieces and it is safe to eat for 12 hrs. don't worry. just let them a bit more meat so they can chew if they are hungry between meals. and it is so great they love mice! lucky you...
