I really, really love their cage!
And YAY! Success! Haha I would definitely do exactly what you did last time for at least another day. Give them just a little bit more though, we want to give them as much as they will eat, with just a bite or two extra so we know they for enough.
I'm so happy Ollie ate!!

Ok I will add 2 bowls with that little extra tonight mixed with a little bone meal again. Hopefully Ollie tucks into it again like he did last night :-) its good because now I know he does like raw so this is a good start, hopefully he will move on to eating other proteins and bone then I can then follow a menu, which would be great as then I'm all set up for ready for the four ferrets and know exactly what I'm doing :-)
I will have to introduce the other proteins slowly as I don't want him to stop eating the raw. Its a shame raw 2 go don't have a wider selection really.
I'm looking forward to trying them with the treats I hope they like them, its strange because the ones I get from Germany they went crazy for straight away!
I will weigh Ollie on the 25 June as this will be a week since I last weighed them, be really good if Ollie puts some weight on, even though we know he's fine. In the winter he actually weighed just under 4 pounds, his brother was 4 pounds, Ollie lost it for the summer.
His brother weighed 4 pounds, the vet said he was fat :-( I explained its winter fat and he's young so they do this but will lose it for the summer, Iv changed vets since lol!
What is a average weight for young ferrets hobs in winter and summer ?

Ollie has eaten a good amount again tonight, there's still some left in the bowl, Oscar eat a little but then went to bed. I did put a turkey neck in as it had been in the freezer a while so wanted to use it up, Oscar stashed them, Ollie went and had a little chew on it :-)
Ollie appears to be eating more than Oscar!

This is a really good start. When we are ready to introduce a new protein you basically just mix a little in with what they will eat and increase it a bit a day. If they stop eating it then back up the amount again till their eating it again.
I am so glad he is still eating. Hopefully they will eat up that neck!
Weight varies a lot, so it's hard to say what a normal weight is. I do know that they can loose up to 40% of their weight in the summer, so if Ollie was 4 lbs it is ok that he's only 2 something. We still want to watch it of course, but not unusual. Also they have a stage of baby fat. My Pepe is going through that still. Everyone keeps telling me to enjoy it, cause this time next year he will thin out. I love them chunky like this!

Both bowls completely empty again this morning, no meats stashed anywhere, the turkey necks were still there this morning, looks like someone had a little go at one, I have left one in for the day just to see if they try it later.
I'm getting low on meat, only have chicken, chicken / lamb/ beef and beef and heart left. I have some chopped up chicken wings left too.
There stools are looking a little better too :-)
Yes I prefer them chunky too, Oscar still had that chunky look at the moment :-)

Yay for another clean bowl this morning! (dance) Do you have enough chicken to get you through wed? If not, a couple things to make it go longer.... Try smashing up the chicken wings and cutting them up and mix in a little of the grinds. They know and like the taste of chicken, but the look and texture of the wing may throw them off a bit. Also, you can try a 50/50 or even 75/25 of chicken/lamb. I have never fed lamb, so I am not sure if it's a weird smell or something like the beef and goat (to the ferrets picky nose I mean lol). How do the boys like lamb? If you know they will eat it freely, don't bother mixing it and save the chicken!
Since they didn't get too excited about the necks, you can try smashing them up a bit. Their jaw strength isn't there yet, so it's still about of work to eat those bones! Lol

I just re-read your post and saw that the lamb you have is a mixture of chicken, lamb and beef! Hmmmmm again to make your chicken (which we know they are liking!) last, try doing a 50/50 mixture of the c/l/b and more chicken grinds. And then chicken grinds with some smashed and cut up wing. That way it's all primarily chicken, which they know and like. Little buggars lol do you have enough chicken for that??

Ok so one bowl of lamb/chicken/beef with extra chicken mince added in and also one bowl of chicken minced with smashed up wings, is this correct ? I think I have enough chicken for this :-)
I can't remember if they like the lamb but as its already mixed with chicken and beef I think they do eat it, I just can't remember now so will do as above lol!
iv just looked in fridge at tonight's meal I have chicken mince out and the lamb/beef/chicken, I also have just got out two small chicken wings so should be all there for tonight.
i think I have just about enough to get through till Wednesday so should be all good :-)

I put the bowls out and stood and watched for a while, Ollie stuck to the bowl with the chicken minces mixed with beef/lamb/chicken then he went to bed he didn't eat as much as I saw him eat last night so I'm hoping he has some more through the night. Oscar ate a small amount from the bowl with the smashed up chicken wings but then he went off to bed, he ate about the same amount as last night which wasn't much whilst I was watching, how ever both bowls were empty in the morning so someone's eating it lol
I like to actually see Ollie eating it so I can see how much he has but doesn't look like I'm going to see who eats it tonight :-(
They don't appear to be that hungry is this normal ? I removed kibble at 6pm it has been warm today.
Hopefully I find empty bowls again in the morning.

It is normal for them to slow down with eating. Mine day to day also eat better. Some days they will eat everything I offer and other days it doesn't seem like they eat anything! And it doesn't always matter what it is I offer. Think of animals in the wild again. They don't get a regular meal every night. :0)

Ok that's good to know as when there on kibble it's left down all the time so you don't tend to see how much they eat, when you feed raw you actually see and only now I'm seeing they do eat very little some days
This morning is one of those days lol the two bowls still have a good amount of meat in they haven't really eating much at all, they are up ready waiting to come out this morning and are currently playing so they must be getting what they need ?
They didn't eat the chicken wings and they were smashed up into very small pieces so this is disappointing, I'm not sure what to do next to try and get them to eat them other than keep putting them ?

Basically the way to introduce anything new to a ferret is to do it sneaky. Mixing it with something that they do like and then slowly increasing the new thing and decreasing what they know they like. So, if they are still not eating the BI wings well, even with smashing it up, then we just need to go smaller with it. Either smaller pieces or less of it, until they are eating it regularly enough and then work up from there. Does that make sense?
