It does to me too since Minnie is only a pound and a half at 5 months. I got her at 10 weeks and she was 13 oz and about 7-8 inches long from nose to base of tail.

I stopped weighing the brats last year way before 9 weeks but I think those are about right.

Zar'thun as a mill baby was almost 2.5 lbs at 10-12 weeks but that seemed abnormally large. I'm sure these guys will keep growing quickly and make up for any lost time now that they aren't competing for food with the larger siblings who got sick.

Thanks NancyL. I'm afraid I'm a bit paranoid with this litter and have been weighing them to make sure they get enough food. Having no previous experience and also knowing that Bev usually goes by feel and look, not weights (so is relying on my photos of them, instead of hands on) It's good to hear from both of you knowing that they seem to be about right for weights and size. I do have an old chart from a text that gives weights for Marshals ferrets vs raw fed ferrets which I've been looking at periodically and though their weights are lower they're gains are consistent. Their appetites are not over the top (except for rats, they ate 6 young rats yesterday), though I have noticed an increase in appetite the last few days. I will have to post videos though the nursery is an absolute mess and should never be seen, so you will have to forgive it. Their reaction to the rats was rather amazing and I was quite surprised. ciao

lol the reason there weights will be lower is because they wont stay still lol I can imagine them with the rats the kill it mode will of kicked in it wont of mattered that they where already dead lol just wait until they try a live kill lol now that is something to watch and when you do see it think of rabbit in a warren and watch how fast they go to work and finish the job they are supposed to do to survive lol take care bye for now Bev

Yes, I'm keeping them. Radagast if he proves himself will be kept as a hob, if he's not quite up to snuff, he will become a v-hob and get lots of snuggles. Merida at the moment is a striking jill and her sister's no slouch either, though smaller. We will see where their journey takes them, but it will be spent here . ciao

Another reason to add to my list of reasons not to breed...I couldn't part with such gorgeous ferrets either
