Congratulations, and thank you so much for taking in this adorable wee one. I personally would be feeding some ferret lax or pumpkin for the next few days. I agree the bloating is probably diet related but if he did consume any of the rodent food, it could still cause a blockage. We had another fuzz rescued by someone who was on the forum a while ago. She too had been fed rodent food. She had a horribly distended tummy which went down quickly enough but she was still expelling some of the remains of that horrible diet up to a week later. I would continue to be very cautious and keep a close eye on this little one. Thank you so much for taking him in. ciao

Oh my! He is adorable! Make sure to take lots of pictures, I would love to see the progress. He looks like an old man compared to Pooka. Thank you so much for taking him!

Wow... dog food? Hampster food?!?!?? I'm so glad you rescued him, he's so handsome! I can't wait to see the changes, seeing him next to Pooka makes me want to cry. He just looks so sickly. More pictures? Pretty please??

I love his little puggish nose! He looks like such a good little boy and he must be so thankful to be at home with you and Pooka now. I'm sure he'll be in great shape once he gets some good food into his tummy and learns how to be a ferret.

I'd check for parasites too. I don't know about ferrets but a distended belly (Tennis ball?) can mean worms in horses. :S I can't believe people. Poor thing! I am so glad he is in a good home now! Congrats - he is adorable!

Wow thanks everybody! I feel much betterter about the two of them together. They actually snuggled up together while they were out last night And they are in separate parts of my quality cage ferret mansion He's getting pumpkin everyday with a bit of olive oil over the top of it. Pooka gets it every other day Going in to the vets soon. He's on vacation right now. He gave me an emergency vets number but said not to use it unless its an emergency. He also said it sounds like what he was eating. I'll bring him in next week. And I can call my vet if i have any concerns (what a vacation right?) He seems to be doing awesome now though. They are both running around, dooking. Its so neat to watch him learn how to be a ferret

What a great intervention! That stuff is scary... I don't understand why people think ferrets can be kept like hamsters... they don't even look or act a like... wheres the link? They have fur? Ugh, anyways I'm glad Clyde is in a better place now. So glad that he's safe now. Do let us know how it's going, a pecking order is alright, step in if they get rough to a point of blood or urine. A little squealing is alright, they have to dook it out till one wins.

So glad to hear you got him. I'm thinking Juno was "set free" because of her smell (dear god the worst stench ever when I picked her up). After proper care and a raw diet, she smells just lovely. Hooray for Clyde in his new home!
And at least I can hope that because your co-worker says she hates ferrets, at least there's less chance of her getting another one.
