Since I didn't hear from you i did mix the marrow in her soup lol...oops! But she probably has been getting about 1 teaspoon per serving. Pumpkin seems to really like turkey! We had a turkey breast the other night that still had bones...so i gave her slivers/chunks and even a little bit of rib bone and she did surprisingly well but still won't eat on her own. She is 50/50 on if she will eat with the spoon instead of my hand. Yesterday my boyfriend tried feeding her while I was at work and she wouldn't eat for him!! Once when she was sick and dehydrated she would only drink for me...not him...she mommy's girl!! lol! I give Otis pig heart because I can't find chicken heart...I'm picking up kidney today. Otis is getting finicky about liver though. I tried giving him 1/2 at a time and he will only eat about 1/2 of the 1/2...should we spread it out into 4 portions? Or is there another method?

All good regardless lol so long as she is getting it in her! She's really bonded to you, it is super adorable (though, sometimes a bugger?). You can rotate her meals so she can eat turkey slivers one meal & then soup another (breakfast & dinner). Try pushing her to eating a little more slivers With Otis, you can try making a grind up or even buying a commercial grind (Hare Today Gone Tomorrow) & hiding the liver in it or all of his organs. If you make your own, make a mix with strong flavoured meats (red meats are usually best for this). Weigh out his weekly organ portion, then multiply the weight by 3 with the other meat & mix it, then just weigh it out into 2-4 small portions. Might help And Leeroy is good. He's eating meaty bones & large chunks atm, still isn't quite sure with red meats or organs but he'll consume pork & poultry happily

Aww Leeroy!! That's adorable! I made the grind of the organs and steak for Otis...but the stinker is sleeping right now! lol! Our blender was acting up so for Pumpkin I made a mix of minced/slivers of pork and a little steak, along with heart, kidney, liver and eggshell powder. I mixed in half an egg yolk since I didn't know how she would take to it...but she did pretty good! Not great but better than I expected. When I saw a noticeable chunk of liver in a spoonful I was certain that would be pushed aside but she ate it up! I was so happy!!! She is also starting to like the bone marrow! At first she picked and I kind of had to force her to take some but now she goes right for it! She's a stubborn one but she is starting haha! She looks so silly when she eats...she squints and like to move her head side to side when she licks her whiskers lol! Otis is still our little goon...besides organs he devours everything! Luckily he has slowed down a bit - be it getting older or summer or a combination there of - but he is down to about 6 oz. a day give or take.

Bugger lol I've broken soooo many blenders. Usually experimenting with different foods. I think I'm up to my 6th one? Food processors would be better, but they're more expensive haha If she likes the slivers, just keep going with them She may simply always be a light eater, I'm thinking. Wait until she's eating her first chicken neck once they figure out how to handle them, I swear all ferrets practically grin whilst they chew them up. Glad Otis has slowed down for you. Cheeky bugger lol my boys are starting to slow as well, but they still pig out on their favourites.

The last few days Otis hasn't been eating nearly as much about 4 oz...but it is summer and he is still acting his usual self. I tried giving Pumpkin some chicken neck sliced finely (without egg yolk) and she wasn't interested! That goon! She's down to about 1/4 of an egg yolk in 1-2 oz of slivers. She is also doing better with bigger chunks...even almost thumb nail size so long as I hand feed her lol! Its so hard to get good pictures of these guys unless they are sleeping...but here's a few! This is probably my favorite of Mr. Otis! Pumpkin never sits still! She's sooo tiny!! Otis' summer coat has a lot of yellow underneath! That with how huge he is I've started calling him my school bus! Look how big his head is compared to hers!! And of course our cat Chunk has to be involved in the photo shoot! Shes always been an antisocial kitty...but loves these guys!

Aww! They're so adorable! *smothers them with kisses* My kitties hate my ferrets. The feeling is mutual though. Mine are getting very old though & a pac of rough housing ferrets is not what they need or want. Gotta take my old boy in for a dental If he is suffering from the heat, try halving his meals & feeding them mostly frozen. My ferrets go from devouring nearly 9lbs daily to a mere 4lbs during Summer, & will only eat once when it is dark & cool. Day time is spent sleeping in the cool or in their water dish. I do feel sorry for the wee buggers. Pumpkin, you cheeky goon! She's a real mummies princess lol does she like oils, at all?

I've never tried any oils...like olive oil? Last night she was such a lazy bum! I woke her to feed her and she literally laid back into my arm like a baby!! She ate her entire 1 oz of "soup" aka slivers and chunks of pork and chicken, heart, liver, kidney, bone, and 1/4 egg yolk on her back! She's so spoiled haha!!

I'm really excited! Found some interesting finds at the store today...got pork riblets, goat meat, and veal tail which Otis seems to love! I mixed in a little bit of steak, goat and veal tail into Pumpkin's "soup"...she seems to like goat but is becoming fussy about the bones even minced...always backtracking whenever I think she's progressing! At least she's eating the slivers/chunks regularly...ahh soooooo stubborn!

Fish oils, olive oil (extra virgin olive oil for example), coconut oil, emu oil, pollock oil, lots of different oils. My guys will all go bonkers for fish oils (& bone marrow), but not all ferrets like them lol.
If she's is eating slivers, then you can try using a cleaver to smoosh the bones & expose the marrow inside. Ferrets, they either won't eat organ or won't eat bone lol

I got Pumpkin to eat 2 oz. tonight for dinner with 1/8th an egg yolk and a couple drops of olive oil (which she seemed to love!) and 1 chicken neck finely diced...she spit out any pieces bigger than a pin head. She had no problem before!!! Also she seems to really LOVE chicken skin! It's the only thing I give her that she will eat no matter what size piece it is! Lol Otis is still Otis...eating whatever I give him...just fussy with organs...for Mondays organfest I'm mixing it with goat...

Good job Try repeating the same thing with Pumpkin again over the next few meals. Otis. Piggy boy lol I have honestly not tried my guys on goat, they adore mutton though, if I can ever find folks who will actually sell me a goat for eating I'll be in business.

Today Pumpkin didn't do quite as well...but still not bad...1.5 oz of "soup" made with goat, steak, liver, kidney and heart. I added 1/4 of egg yolk(since she hasn't had goat "soup yet") a few drops of olive oil and a chicken neck minced with extra skin. She really does enjoy the skin lol. I hope that's not a bad thing for her! Although it can't be worse than the yolk and oil everyday haha.
I heard goat and lamb are very good for ferrets...how true it is I don't know but one of the stores I go to has it often so I figured I'd try lol. Plus it;s cheaper them lamb!

Apologies for not being on! Trying to organise a d*mn flight interstate for a ferret, yet you'd think I was asking for a freaking moon. Oh, they are both very good. Mainly because they are usually grass fed & there's less additives put into them. Mutton is matured lamb & is also well taken, usually richer & darker too, I find. Lamb is fatty Usually very rare for any animal to develop an allergy to them, too. Skin is fine Good for fat & if she likes it, go with it! It'll encourage her to eat more. Has she improved at all in the last few days on the newer soup? Progress some more lumps into her soup?

O no! Don;t worry this is the first time I've checked in a few days too! Our house flooded and we've been dealing with this nightmare! I haven't tried anything new with Pumpkin with the stress of trying to keep them away from the mold while everything gets fixed (even harder being the 4th of July weekend!) but she is still getting the same mixture and still is finicky with bones. Definitely wish she would eat on her own right now lol. I might not be posting much the next few days or so because when we aren't at work we have to go through EVERYTHING and throw away all the furniture and stuff that got ruined. I feel so bad for the little guys since now they are confined to just one room until our floor can get replaced because I dont want them getting sick.
