I use a mortar and pestle that I use to grind my herbs. Sherry uses a coffee grinder (I believe) ciao

Is the raw soup something you feed all the time? Or just as a treat? Sorry, I know I'm asking questions all over the place tonight haha.

No problem on the questions - we're all happy to answer them I feed raw soup on a regular basis (to keep them used to it in case they're sick). I also use it to feed organ meats since my crew doesn't like it (and it makes sure everyone gets what they need). My crew gets soup 1-2 a week. Raw soup is also the main tool used to switch stubborn ferrets. Most will readily accept a soup, so you can then add chunks and less water, to help transition them to whole chunks. You don't have to feed soup on a regular basis at all

When I remember, I do a weekly soup ;D you really do need something easy to eat for the times they'll either be sick, or had surgery, etc. you don't want to be struggling trying to get an ill fuzz to accept something new.

You can also make a batch of soup up and freeze it in ice cube trays, that way it's already made for ferret emergencies or days when you are in a rush and don't have time to prepare another meal. Just pop out a few cubes per ferret, place them in the cage and you are good to go.

Approximately how many ounces for 1 liver and what type of liver? 8oz chicken meat 1-2 chicken hearts 1 liver 1/4 tsp powdered eggshell Enough water, or homemade chicken broth(straight chicken, no spices, veg, etc) to make a soupy texture Puree all of the above together, freeze in ice cube trays, baggie cubes after frozen.

Either one chicken liver, or approx. 2oz any other kind of liver- whatever you can get hold of.

Ok so I got my order from Hare today I got 4 1 lb. bags of the ground meats (3 chicken, 1 rabbit). They have bone and organ included. Not sure what the ratio is. Should I add additional heart, liver and eggshell? Is it bad if you feed more heart and organ in your soup?

How do you give them the food cubes? Should you let it thaw back into soup then heat it up? Should you just give them the cubes as they come out of the freezer?
