Just a quick question on how many ice cubes of soup per meal? May take trial and error and obviously will vary on ferrets. But thought I'd ask so i know the bare minimum you'd expect.
Cheers.

However many they will eat! Ferrets are (usually) good at self regulating. In the beginning you will notice your boy eats way more than usual, but this will slow down after his body has made up for the protein he missed, and as he gets older. Usually they settle into eating more "normal" amounts after a few months. You want to give them as much as they want though. It's pretty rare for ferts to overeat, esp on raw.

What can I use in place of egg shells if I don't eat eggs? My fiancee is allergic so if I even get eggs I normally just get egg beaters (just the whites) since I don't eat them either. Anything I can use in place of the shells?

If your ferrets are only having a soup while transitioning, you should be fine without them Or you could even ask family to put a few rinsed ones aside for you.

Bone meal can also be used as a supplement

As long as it's either for the short term, or even just a weekly treat, it's fine Just to warn you, their stools will likely be looser. You can always add in 1/2 tsp of pure pumpkin per ferret to firm them up if you like.

Remember if you take out the egg shell you've eliminated the calcium from your wee ones diets. Ferrets because of their fast metabolism really need this, so don't go too long without either the egg shell, calcium powder or bone meal....actually if you can get them to eat bone that is the ultimate . I make my soupy with ground rmbs ciao
