That was their organ mix and the tongue is in chunks. (Yes, F&A ate the chunks) That is why it's so runny tho. The FDR and CGR are both thicker...more like ground turkey or chicken from the grocery store. Lamb, venison, and rabbit aren't as soft as the poultry grinds, but they eat all of the varieties okay. Generally, Kimble doesn't eat much (if any) grinds...although he recently has been more apt to taste different foods in the dish.
The order from MPC includes bone in and chunks for Kimble and grinds of each protein for F&A (planning to add chunks of the same protein to the grinds). That will increase Kimble's variety significantly. With the thigh bones: he eats the ends of the thicker ones and usually leaves only the 1" in the center.
I'm stunned by the fact that they are now all within 1.1oz of each other weight-wise! Kimble still has his kit fluff though, and is so petable (although he'd rather be down to play with Hoshi the kitten...who we found out is a BOY! Surprise!).

Well that explains why it looks so runny Their weights are great, which I'm glad to see. Keep up on the chunks. If they start eating less then don't increase until they eat the size of pieces you offer more readily Let me know how the pieces are coming.

I got the order from MPC! I've spent all evening packaging. So instead of bags of each food in the freezer downstairs, I've decided to pack as many complete weeks...each in a separate bag... As i have portions. Then I only have to grab a bag each week and they will already be balanced.

OOh! I can't wait to hear how they like all their new meats. Fingers crossed they try them! I notice Avery and Foster are getting 3 heart/organ meals. Since they are getting many grinds with these included you can cut at least one of those meals out for them. Make sure you continue to add chicken chunks to every meal. Continue to increase the amount of pieces. Let me know how they like everything! Rabbit, goat, it all sounds so exciting!

Well, they weren't sure at first, but after a taste, they all ate the new organ mix. It is half chicken heart, 1/4 goat spleen, 1/4 rabbit and goat livers.
Kimble stashed his goat piece and ate whole hearts. I wasn't sure if he would.
I also cut up pieces of goat and rabbit for F&A to try.

Went to the reptile show and Chinatown today. I visited the rodentpro table and bought mice (mostly for the snake, but...), cavvies, and quail. In Chinatown, I got more rabbit and some pre-dressed quail. I gave Kimble one of the whole ones, still frozen and so far, he has stashed it twice and eaten the legs off.
This morning, I have them CGF rabbit with rabbit pieces (including some small bones). Foster and Avery ate the pieces, but of course, the piece with bone was the one Kimble found. Lol.

My kids are less than impressed with the guinea pigs in the fridge to thaw *just* enough that I can uh..."prepare" them. My daughter opened the door and said "EW! Mom!!! I can't get milk with those things LOOKING at me!" lol

I'm impressed that Foster and avery ate rabbit pieces! How big were the pieces? Did they eat any pieces that contained bone? I'm glad that the New meats are going well. In Regards to the feeding dens. I think they could probably share but it might not hurt to set up one more for f & A since they eat a different meal. I probably don't use a feeding den but that would be my assumption.

I had GP pets too... It's hard, but being all white and frozen makes them look less pet-like. Sigh. Foster got a rabbit piece with a vertebra in it. He chewed all the meat off and put the bone next to the toilet. lol!!! I gave them ground beef with beef pieces last night. They were not fans, but that was the first time ever for plain beef. Eventually, I added a piece of FDR beef/salmon, and they ate some of it. This morning was ground lamb lung with rabbit pieces. They tasted, but ALL of it was still there this morning.

PS, I have NO idea what happened to the whole quail...I can't find it or any evidence it was consumed (ie: feathers)

Well, they ate ALL of the organ/heart stew (it is pretty thick for soup). It doesn't seem like it takes as long to digest though, and they usually start looking for food again later. I figured hey...I know they aren't starving, but if they have the munchies, maybe they'd like to play with a quail instead of tossing the food dish around the cage. lol
I put in a dressed carcass and legs, as well as a whole small quail with feathers. We'll see what they do with them overnight. Kimble has already eaten the legs/feet off the whole one.

WooHoo! SOMEONE (likely Kimble) ate BIRDY BRAINS during the night! The whole quail is now missing both his feet AND his entire head! It's revolting and cool at the same time. lol

So...f&a did not want to eat their fresh ground rabbit from MPC. I crumbled 1/2 a cube of FDR turkey on top (didn't even wet it) and they cleaned the plate! Kimble seems to adore quail. Especially with the feathers on it. He ate the entire thing. Plus both legs and half the torso of the larger, dressed one. NOBODY seems even remotely interested in guinea pig. Man...it was hard to "process" those. Not difficult, but ew. I'm not sure if I want to do that again. It was pretty disgusting. And they have those cute little pet feet...
