Ok. sorry I will make sure I write everyday. I will be getting my scale tomorrow so I can give you weights.
Great!
Sadie - she is eating bone great and is doing awesome still. I increased chunk size a bit but not bone size yet. she eats about an oz at a mean at a time though I always leave a bit more just in case. I'm going to get some beef to try tomorrow.
Good girl. Start increasing the bone chunks a little at a time as well. For the beef, start by mixing just a little bit of it in with one of her regular meats. If she takes that with no fight, then gradually increase the beef. A little soup drizzled on top like gravy is a great enticer as well.
I also switched out chicken to a muscle meat and turkey to a bone meal. CuZ they did not like the ground turkey.
It is probably a texture thing - some ferrets are more texture oriented than others.
Angel n gizzmo - I only did sliver without soup once cuz I was making new soup .
Oh okay! Good. I interpreted that as that was all they were getting. I had a mentee recently try to skip past the soupy chunks phase and found her ferret wasn't eating enough and he got really sick, so I'm a bit more on the alert for that. :/ Never mind then...
sliver are middle fingernail with and as which as maybe idk how to explain it like maybe coke can top maybe a little thicker I will get pics to send to your Facebook cuz I cant send in here from the phone for some reason. if this ok. they eat like 2 oz or more between another every meal. I'm not trying to push them to hard. they also do not eat bone yet. I've given them a small peice outa Sadie s to see.
No, now that I understand I think you are pushing them just fine. I misinterpreted your post. That is great they are eating nail sized chunks. Start adding more chunks of that size for the next few meals, and as long as they do okay with that, begin increasing the size again. I don't expect them to be eating bones yet, but if they decide to try it early all the better! It never hurts to try and offer them new things and see what they think.
FB for pictures is fine.
poor all looks normal and energy.is awesome. hair is growing back I have a vet appointment tomorrow to check their skin again. will let you know how the goses .
Great! Glad they are doing better.
the vet thinks I'm crazy doing this and tried to get me back on kibble and I was like uh. no.
Good for you for standing your ground! (dance) Unfortunately, many vets these days are anti-raw thanks to the AVMA and profit-hungry kibble companies.
I will write more I am so sorry things he just been crazy. I do apologise.
Like I said, I haven't been pestering you too much be my own schedule has been particularly nutso lately. Gizmo and Angle are at a pretty important stage though, so it really is important that you post more often so I know where they are at and can help you figure out where to go next. If you ever can't get on the forum for some reason, a messave via Facebook is just fine.
I will get some fish to try. I an still got heart and some kidney beef and I got some brain and uterus on order I was told Friday they should be in.
Good luck with the fish! It took mine a while to learn to like it. Now Koda loves it - he is also nuts about salmon oil though. Kidney, brain, and uterus are all great!
I was wondering. about the uterus is it messy?
Oh yes, but not as much as brain. Brain is particularly slimy. Be prepared for some interesting poops on those days! Brain and uterus together can make for some rather um....alarming looking excrement. They are really good for them though, so I put up with it. Don't be too alarmed, the gross organ poops are normal. If ever in doubt you can always post a picture along with what they ate and I can let you know if it looks normal for that particular meal.
