There are a few on here who feed organs as a soup meal or in a grind if they cannot get their ferrets to eat them otherwise so that is an option, to just continue to feed in a mince. Whatever way we can get it into them.

they ate chicken liver before Nyx's illness, but now Oscar and baylis wouldn't touch it. i used to put few drops of pumpkin oil, just to change the taste. now, pumpkin oil is not something they would eat at all. i think i should put some more hearts and liver in their mince, they are eating half mince/half meat in one meal... is it ok?

Increase it slowly. Do they eat hearts on their own?

only Baylis, but not much. just few pieces a day. i was thinking to put it in the cage over night, i'm sure Baylis would it it. sometimes i put pork heart stripes in their mince, Oscar is eating and Nyx bypasses them with her tongue. she's licking the mince and heart pieces are falling out of her mouth. it is so comic to watch i was so surprised this morning! i weighted them and look what's new! Nyx 1020g Baylis 790g Oscar 1915g

Wow Nyx has broken the 1000g mark! See if you can get them to eat heart on their own, we can do liver in a mince if need be but if we can get them to eat heart alone that would be a plus. Sometimes it depends on the source too. Mine will barely touch beef heart at all, I just got some pork heart so I should try them on that, I don't feed much pork but I gave them a little off a fatty cut I bought for us humans and they gobbled it right up, offered a little more and they ignored it. But mine love chicken hearts, they will eat duck and turkey ones too but prefer those chopped a bit.

i put some pork heart chunks in their breakfast mince, along with the lamb stripes. Baylis ate a lot, but i cutted chunks on small pieces, almost like the meat in mince. i'll increase size little by little and see if they would eat. i gave them pork and lamb heart so far, rabbit heart is in the mince they eat every day. i can only try beef or veal heart, i'll buy it tomorrow.
one more question, what is "whole cornish game hen"?

A rock cornish hen is a smaller breed related to chickens, here in the US a game hen is just a chicken slaughtered young, when they are under 2 pounds. They are a good size for ferrets and cats because the bones are a bit smaller and they can eat the whole thing easily. I buy them whenever they are on sale.

I am just amazed at you and the other bilingual members on here, I have no idea how you keep it all straight! There's so much slang and abbreviations and weird sayings from country to country to really confuse people.

we do manage somehow. but sometimes i need help, as you see . our languages are so different, when i try to put words in a sentence, i have to think on english, not croatian because i would write rubbish and you wouldn't understand a word. LoL honestly, i am amazed how you do understand what i'm writing

well... Baylis ate this morning 30g of pork heart, pieces 2cm big! she was chewing and chewing...i was sooooo happy she ate some mince too, where i put some veal brain that i bought this morning. they all ate it for breakfast and dinner too. Oscar and Nyx didn't ate heart, but i'll try to give them again. i'll also try some lamb lungs tomorrow, just a little bit for a test.

Ha she can chew after all! Brain is a great organ source too so if they eat that well at least you don't have to slip them so much liver.

Baylis CAN chew. it's not a problem for her, she also eat bones with meat. only liver is obviously not so tasty for her . Oscar doesn't want bones, yet, and Nyx is the bigest problem with chewing. she eats with her tongue, not whole mouth. she is just licking the food. sometimes, when she picks some meat stripe, it seems she just swallow it, not chew.

You might have to make the strips super long, or maybe try thicker so she has to kind of work her teeth on them? A lot of them just want to do that licking no effort eating.

i make long stripes about 5cm long, and if they are thicker, she just put them away from the mince with her tongue. sometimes she does chew but not enough. i put some lamb lungs along with the brain in the mince this morning, they are so heavy to cut. so foamy texture... i cutted small chunks and they ate. will try to increase the amount of the lungs in the mince tomorrow. it was enough brain for this week Baylis had a dark poo yesterday from all that heart she ate, even during the night. that's great! now i have to make Oscar and Nyx to eat it too. is there a posibility to overdose them with a taurin?
