Hello, I am called U. Engel, I am female, 22 years old, brazilian, but live in Germany. And it is almost one year that I am owned by a hob called Bandit. I know it is better to have 2 ferrets instead of one, but I really can't. Bandit is really happy though. he has free roam of the room and I play with him at least 3/4 hours per day, and he is very much loved. I am still waiting a little bit more to neuter him, as I want him to be a little over a year, around a year and 2 months. and yes, the smell is awful, but I am managing to stand it for now. and most of it will be gone soon. he will turn one year in may! He loves to bite noses, is crazy about them, but is a very calm and sweet boy otherwise, as long as you keep your nose away from him. I can't imagine my life without him, it doesn't matter how bad a day I had, when I come home and I see him and play with him, everything gets better. ps: I've read the rules already.

Hello and welcome!!! One thing to consider for your hob is a des. Implant instead of surgical castration. That way, he keeps his goodies and smells better Your baby is soo cute!

Actually as I said in another part of the forum, for the first month or so, he had 2 litter brothers with him, my landlord said I could only have one ferret but I sneaked 2 more in there. I got caught. so I had to rehome 2 of them or I would to rehome myself... and i couldnt afford it. I found a nice home for them, to a nice responsible new owner. they went to live with me around 7 weeks old, and one month after i had to rehome bandits brothers. wich made me really sad, but i had no choice. I guess i am "lucky"i could keep one of them, i was having awfuly hard time to find a flat for me, a foreigner, german student, and with pets just waiting for my home to move in with me. So when the landlord said i could only have one i lied and thought he would never know there were 3 of them. but the gossiping neighboors told it. well... i am hambling here, sorry, it is a sore spot. but we are very happy together nowadays, me and my baby, and i still try to find someone for a play date with him, because as nice as his new owner is to them, he wouldnt be welcoming be in his house for my ferret to have playdates.... if you know what i mean. thank you so much for all the warm welcomes everybody! and @lostdoubloon Bist du Deutsch? Und Vielen herzlichen Dank für die Begrüßung

Noch kalt, mit Schnee, wie hier ? I didn't know you spoke German! Man have I been missing out! I lived in Germany twice. German was actually my first language but I was pretty young when we moved back the first time...got put into the US school system...and floof out the window went my German! FFWD to high school and we lived there for a year and I LOVED it. I was picking back up on German really well. Moved back to the US because they were closing down the military base my Dad was stationed on... and well, the old adage rings true - Use it or Lose it! I'm always hoping to find people to practice with, but my German is SOOO incredibly rusty and I get shy...

My german is awful, as im still learning, but im not afraid to speak or write, or i wont learn, right? Im brazilian but german descendent, i only started to learn german last year. and i apeak english with my boyfriend 90 per cent of the time. we are starting to speak german together now. Oh, and im in brazil now, visiting family, but will go back home in germany in 2 weeks, but my boyfriend said the weather is cold in morning, around plus 2 or 4, or minus 2 or 4, deppending on the day, and goes up to plus 18 or 19 in the afternoon, not bad for this time of the year. i cant wait to go back there for him and bandit (he is taking care of bandit for me while im here)
