My head is spinning from how fast this happened. He's at the vets for the night, on IV and sucrose. The vet is not sure what is going on truly. Gave lots of options but only the test will tell for sure. None of the options she gave have good outcomes. She believes he is dehydrated, and because he's still drinking on his own, she is thinking it could possibly be an issue with his kidneys. On top of that she thinks the lack of motor movement and twitching could be from low blood sugar, though she was unable to get a good pick for the glucometer. She feels there is something very wrong as even not eating for 24hrs should not make him so severely hypoglycemic. (he was getting pumpkin/ oil and baby food last night and today) It's possible there is still a blockage, she will do an xray. It's possible this has nothing to do withthe blockage. I dont have any answers, and really feel like the vet felt this was bad.

Yes he's just a baby, 10months. Vet did not seem to think injury at all, and that his heart sounded good, only good think she said.

So weird. I really think he must have fallen. Did the vet xray him? Any pain meds? Keep him confined to one level of his cage. How is he doing now? Can he walk?

I'll be praying for Neka. How knowledgable is your vet? I think an x ray is definitely in order.

This is the first time I've met her, but Heather recommended her, so thats good enough for me. Besides my vet is closed till tomorrow and there is no way he could wait that long Thank you he needs them. I've never been so scared. I've never seen a ferret that sick, even with Trix.

Your little one must be dehydrated indeed, Michelle is usually good with one of those little stickers. She even managed to get Fun-Go (of course he felt that if he was going to donate to the cause so could she ) We will be thinking of you and Neka's candle is lit ciao

Talked to the vet She's had him on 50cc IV fluids which he pulled out, then 60cc subcu fluids, and he's still dehyrdated. His sugar level is fine, so it's not the cause of this. xray show something in abdomen, (which is painful to him) when he was sedated she felt it and thinks its' an enlarged spleen. He's on antibiotics. He's not vomited, or had a stool since there. He's NO better. Vet is not convinced it's blockage, she feels strongly that it's kidney failure, though has not proof yet. (no test results) in a last ditch effort to see if it is a blockage she is doing a barum. (gawd I'm praying for a blockage!) if it's not a blockage, she says there is nothing she can do for him.

she said the kidney could have been genetic, and the blockage was enough to stress the kidneys in to not working.
