That looks good so far. You actually have 4 protein sources right now for muscle meat (chicken, beef, pork, turkey) so don't worry about adding another one just yet.
Are you still adding eggshell to all of that?
The main thing now is to get them eating bone.
Keep in mind that 8 or 9 of those meals are going to have to be EDIBLE BONE once we get them eating bone.
That means that to start you are going to have 8-9 meals of chicken wings or necks per week, 1.5 hearts and 1.5 organs. That only leaves 2-3 other muscle meat meals. So 1 of those could be turkey, one of those could be beef and one of those could be pork.
Once they are eating bone, it will be important to have them eating other sources of bone that just chicken. So Cornish hen, turkey necks, pork button bones if you can find them.
The "leftovers" meal is fine for now. But ultimately it will have to be an edible bone meal.
Did you have any success with the chicken necks this time around???

Is there another way we could do the neck. I've tried the only put that out all day and I feel it's pretty detrimental to Molly she gets all lethargic and gets terrible poops. I believe the method would work with stitch but Molly is stubborn. The necks right now are smashed like little hamburger paddies about the size of a nickle to quarter. Someone gave them a try last night because there was neck outside of the bowl. Stitch does have a little tumour on the end of his tail. She says it's quite small but she won't know all the details till she can send it to the pathologist. Just waiting on a quote and then we will plan that surgery. Other then that she says he looks fine. And for an exact weight he's 1290

Thanks for letting me know about Molly. That's definitely not good if she is holding out on it that strongly. Let me check in with my fellow mentors and see what other strategies might work better for a ferret like her. Will let you know

Okay Jasmine. Going to have you do with your's the ONLY thing that worked with mine. Instead of necks gets wings. For the next 3-4 days this is literally all they will have(I am assuming all are healthy here- have not read the entire nine pages). I need you to segment the wings at the joints. Take those segments and cut them in half. The middle section cut between the two bones. The large drumette cut lengthwise as best you can to expose the marrow. This is literally all they are getting for the next few days. You will feed twice a day. At the end of a day(12 hours) you will remove old food and replace with the same thing of new. If need be slash the drumette to give them a grip. They WILL get it. And as much as I hate to say it sometimes hunger is the incentive they need.

There you have it and Sherry has dealt with some VERY stubborn ferrets so she knows her stuff!

Sounds good thank you guys I have wings defrosting at the moment. Once I cut the bone open like that could I stick some marrow in their mouths and get the taste like I did with the soup?

You definitely can do that. I find that if you hand-feed to get them start with new foods, it helps

I'm going to chop up the bone and they will have that till the 3rd lunch time. I completely forgot I was going away for a few days so I'll have to go backwards and go back to having the chunks all mixed together with organs and heart and stuff till then. I'll let you know how the bone goes till then. This week I had been doing the meal plan am pm thing and it has been going well. I totally have been over feeding them hahaha until I put the heart in and it was all gone 8 hours later!

Sounds perfect and don't worry about going back to mixed up chunks if you are going away. It's not going backwards, it's just switching from balancing the meals over a week back to balancing each meal individually when are you going away and for how long? That way I don't wonder when you're gonna be back

AHH!! So I tried hand feeding stitch some to start. I took some of the cut up bone and scruffed him and put it in front of his face so he licked it a few times, he took it in his mouth and chewed it a bit! It fell in the bowl and he grabbed another piece with meat on it and ate it! Even heard the cracking of the bone!!! I'm so pumped right meow! I'm going to try and do the same with Molly right now as well. My family is probably wondering why I'm clapping and cheering in the bathroom at the moment hahaha
I'm also back on the 8th!

Also Stitch's surgery is booked for the 9th he's going to have to be on kibble for at least most of the day for him getting out of surgery and what not at the clinic. Kinda relieved I didn't give away my kibble last week as that was my plan! Seriously not looking forward to those big poops but at least the little bump on his tail will be gone and be able to get tested he's also very set on the bone and just eats it whenever like the other chunks. I'm not to sure on Molly at the moment as I haven't seen her eat and crunch the bones but when I wake up to crunching in the middle of the night I'll check to see who's making the noise

Found Molly crunching on some bone today Is it normal to have bone pieces every where around their bowl and the cage area they eat? Or should they be eating all of it?
