Ok I have a question I was going to feed my ferrets(when I get them) Evo as it seems to be the only thing available to me in kibble form and event then it would have to be evo cat from this website www.pawsforlife.com.au/product/evo-cat-and-kittenas my local pet shops have a poor food selection and the only other kibble I can find is this www.aussievet.com.au/products/FERRET-DIET.html I not sure if it would event be ok I know raw feeding is better but I'm no good with offal so now I have to re-think my plan

Does anyone have contact with ther person who maintains the More Dooks Ferret Food Chart? I'd really like to see the Zupreem Grain Free added. This is an excellent chart for me to refer adopters to. I'd contact directly, but I don't see a contact button.

I've tried contacting her both through a forum she used to be on, as well as the contact me on that site, and have had no success at all.

Sheeivl, I know you don't have many options where you are. But I'd definitely avoid the second one as it doesn't have taurine listed, which is needed for heart health. Although you can write the company and ask them about it.

Those are frozen, not live. And given that you are on a different continent, I really can't comment as to price. I know that mine had no idea what to do with whole prey at first, and they were already ON raw.

We had to buy our first bag of kibble tonight since having ash and luna. They were on the 8in1 ultra blend select. They choked quite often on the peices. I have to drive over 45 minutes just to get kibble if i don't want to use the walmart crud. Problem is none of the pet stores in a 50 mile radius. Sell ferrets so they don't carry many ferret products. When i got to petsmart the option on ferret food was low. I had the vet come help me after 30 minutes of reading lables and not being satisfied out iof the very few foods offered she said Marshall's was the best rhey offered. My fuzzies love it.. i mixed it with the rest of the 8in1and they picked out the Marshall's. And ate it. Is this a decent food?

Let me also state they have been on 8inone most of their lives. The previous owner had them on it. I personally didn't care for it and after this switch.. my non dooking, lazy, never want to leave the cage fuzzies were dooking, actually engaging in high level activity and more energy and alertness i have seen since having them.

Marshall's food is terrible. Better than the Walmart stuff, a ferret can survive on Marshall's but they will not thrive and be healthy on it. It is basically the top of the lowest tier of food. This chart is an excellent resource for kibble eaters, it will help you select a decent brand. If you have any questions understanding the chart or want to know more about a kibble, feel free to ask. I used to kibble feed. I will warn you that most of the top tier kibbles on there may have to be ordered online if you don't have much in the way of local pet food shops. moredooks.herobo.com/search.php?chart=ferret

I still feed kibble and the kitten food has higher protein - wellness core I used to replace marshalls when I adopted ferrets that ate that. I have always mixed 3 kibbles together. I got a free sample of Natures variety duck meal - put it in a seperate bowl and everyone was crunching on it and it was gone in a day so I bought a bag.

Besides the fact that raw is more healthy, it CAN also be more convenient. Instead of having to find a special ferret food at a pet store, raw meat can be found at your grocery store. As long as you can find 3 meats (chicken, beef, pork, for example), heart of some animal (I can find beef heart at the regular grocery store) and organs like liver and kidney then you have the basics. Just a thought. This forum is a great place for help with that.

Personally I know there are maybe two okay kibbles on the market right now but I will never go back to feeding kibble. I have never had a ferret with better muscle tone or nicer softer fur. That speaks volumes to me.
