after what Procter & Gamble did to Iams and Eukanuba I would not trust them AT ALL with any product. they cheapen everything. they were buying that wheat gluten or whatever ingredient it was from china and it was toxic. ridiculous. we have no way of knowing where they are getting their ingredients from really. it is a big greedy corporation that does not care about quality.

They do have it at Tailblazer's, one of the local raw feeding pet stores I'll check it out, thanks! It's also going to depend on what those spoiled brats will take!

Yarg. The ferrets eat a mix of Evo red meat bites and Wilderness while one dog is on Wysong Epigen (chicken) and the other is on Fromm White fish and potato. I think well end up moving the ferrets to the Wysong Epigen and look at the dogs on Canidae. We're really sad to see how Evo is deteriorating, every animal in our house loves it

I'm getting my ferret next Sunday! The breeder feeds Evo and whole prey. I want to wean the ferret off the Evo but I'll have to buy some initially. What type of Evo should I get? Thanks!

Since he's a baby, you may not have to buy any at all. Try him with the raw bits of meat before doing that. I've had them come into the house and go straight onto the raw, with no kibble involved

You must be so excited,...Sunday...I would be just beside myself with excitement. I brought Minion home, he'd had nothing but kibble prior to that...he went straight onto raw, never had a kibble. Minion was at least 4 maybe 5 months old. You're little one has already tasted raw, he knows what food is...all you have to do is have it ready for him. Good luck, you know you will have to post some photos...babies, tones of wiggly snuggles ;D ciao

Oh I am excited. I have been preparing for this for months! I just cut out an opening in the huge litter box with my dremmel today. I went out and bought litter and a water bottle for the kennel because she will be in it for 4.5 hours on the way home. I am a photographer and you can be sure I'll post tons of pictures

That will be so fantastic I'm looking forward to seeing them. They never stay babies long enough, so take lots of pics and they change so much in the first 18 months of their lifes. ciao

Former Evo feeder with a problem. I'm transitioning to raw, but almost out of kibble and I need to have some on hand for my fussy insulinomic boy. The problem is what to buy? Anyone seen or tried this cat food, Blue Buffalo? www.ferret.com/item/blue-buffalo-wilderness-chicken-dry-cat-food/495928/My boys have been on Evo and Zupreem mix. I wasn't wild about Zupreem but thought I'd better have at least 2 kibbles they'd eat. And good thing, since I'm not buying the "new" Evo. Ugh. A few months ago I bought a bag of the Wysong Epigen 90 and tried to get them to eat it. None of the tricks that worked with the other 2 kibbles I've introduced them to worked! They won't eat it coated in cat hairball remedy, or ferretone, or soup, or mixed into other kibble. They lick off the tasty coating and won't take the kibble. I think they don't like how hard and pellet-y it is. Even my patient husband who did most of the work on the previous switches has given up. They'll only eat it blended into soup- and man is it hard to blend! That pellet is tough! So, do I just buy a bag of Zupreem to tide us over even if it's nutritionally mediocre? Do I try the pretty decent looking cat food, Blue Buffalo?

You will likely need to keep something even once they are switched, just in case. Blue buff seems a reasonable one. If you want to try again with the epigen try mixing a small amount with your existing kibble in a sealed container fir at least two weeks. Shake it daily to mix it up. Offer the mix and see if they still avoid it(that's if you've not done this already ;D )

i had a stubborn ferret with insulinoma. i used to grind up wysong ferret arch 1 in with a mix of EVO and totally ferret baby (warm water added and made into a thick soup). i could not take him completely off kibble completely. it was very frustrating. i did however, manage to get him to eat more of the wysong in his soupies i just kept increasing the ratio of the wysong arch 1 as compared to the kibble mush. try Orijen or petcurean. they both have grain free formulas that are comparable to EVO but not made by such a horrible company such as P & G.

the petcurean go is good bc it has turkey & duck and not as much chicken as those others. i always feel that those chicken kibbles wreak havoc on their stomachs once they are sick. it is like a domino effect.
