So would Wysong Ferret Epigen 90 be the best kibble to feed? Can you also give them a substitute to get them a better fat content or also feed it with the Wysong Ferret Archetypal-1 Diet? Would Innovia Evo Ferret food be better? Im so confused

Epigen 90 fat actually isn't that bad when compared to other kibbles. I would say it's the best kibble fat is easy to add Well it's seems unfair to the other kibbles to include wysong I because it's actually freeze dried raw. ;D g Feeding freeze dried raw mainly and supplementing with kibble is a lot better than just kibble Evo was recently bought by P&G and is expecting an ingredient change soon likely in the "bad" direction.

Okay So I think I will use a mixture of both the frozen raw and dry kibble Wysong brand foods. (:

If you need a hand getting them to accept the frozen raw, just let us know! Odds are, they won't recognize it as food right off the bat.

A few people are already reporting issues with EVO (bad allergic reactions?) Personally, if I were to feed kibble I'd go with Wysong Ferret Epigen 90. The wysong ferret archetypal 1 is not a kibble. It is freeze dried raw. It is an excellent food I highly recommend it. I crumble it well, put warm water in it and feed it to him twice per day (I also crumble 1/2 of a Stella & Chewys "Duck Duck Goose" patty and 1/4 Stella & Chewys's Chicken patty) I let him eat as much as he wants while he's out playing. To this mush I can add store bought raw chicken or turkey minced, I can also add livers and hearts a few times a week. When he is done eating /playing (usually 2 hours in the morning and 3 hours at night) Then I either put the rest in the refrigerator or the dog will inhale it. :DDuring the day while I'm gone I leave out a bowl of Stella & Chewys Dandy Lamb and Big Beef Dinner I break the parties into pieces about 1 inch x 1 inch and I put it in his bowl (dry not rehydrated) & he will eat that throughout the day if he gets hungry. He has a cardboard box as a feeding den in the bedroom where he is free roam. My ferret tends to eat a lot. Some people have said one ferret eats about 1 Stella & Chewys patty per day, Sonny eats about 2 to 2 and 1/2 patties plus 1/4 cup of Wysong Arch 1.

A few people are already reporting issues with EVO (bad allergic reactions?) I know the ingredients haven't changed- I've been keeping an eye on that(at least the wet for my cats). Wondering if they've already changed where they are sourcing it from?

Sherry while the ingredients may not have changed they may be buying the ingredients from less desirable suppliers to cut costs. Also to my understanding, a pet food manufacturer is allowed to change ingredients and they can keep the old labels/bags for up to 6 months. BTW, these reactions have been alleged with both ferret and cat EVO.

Perfect example: wysong changed the archetypsl freeze dried from beef/ chicken to just chicken. But the bags still read "beef, chicken, etc" They are not required to change labels right away. The FDA really needs to protect our animals better than they do.

Wysong only recently changed the labels to read just chicken, chicken hearts, etc.

Well, I guess I just bought my last can of Evo. What's another reasonably decent wet food for cats?

Since you're in Canada, you can probably get Go! Natural grain free. It has the highest protein/fat that I've been able to find in a canned food (12%/8%, same as EVO). There's a handful of 95-98% meat ones from assorted brands like Before Grain, Hound & Gatos, Instinct, etc.

Ok, thanks! So- tonight I realize I have to change my cat food. Getting chicken or pork here is going to be risky as well. Got to do a major rehaul on all the foods
