And I thing I read a post about making jerky..... For the babies. Maybe they would have something to stash and it could curb their need/be safe to snack on.... I'm going take a looksy. Any thoughts on this idea?

You can try it, just be wary of it getting to dry and causing stomach upset.
Once they are confidently eating on their own you can try lessening the soup and moving up to larger slivers / chunks.

I guess I just thought if it was not "ferret-dryed" it might be okay. Ill pass on it though, don't want to make them sick.

It all depends on the humidity in your house if you have air conditioning or radiant heat in the winter it may be to dry unless you also have a humidifier. As long as it is still a little pliable it should be fine. This is what was causing Wilma stomach upset:

Yuck! Yeah, they have never looked like that. Haha, ferrets are so funny. The things they choose to keep and eat....

Yeah I just didn't get it. She would chew on this stuff and throw it back up within about 45 minutes to an hour and then go back for more. She just wouldn't make the connection that she shouldn't be eating it. But enough about my ferrets, how are yours doing? Any progress with slivers or bigger pieces of meat?

Yeah, like Ziva and rubber or some fabrics. It's just like "really little lady?!??!?! if you don't want to feel very ill, or go to the vet, just stop eating stuff that doesn't make you feel good!" I've got the weights for two now, and two left to go. I was but going to finish play time. And I want to re-weigh Lucy... It makes no sense! She is STILL losing weight....but still super active and is eating the most.... More and more everyday!. Ill update in a few mins with everything so you can look at it.

Soooo, still no kibble. And the mince/chunky consistency. Jane: 737 g (25.9 oz) / 737g (25.9 oz)/760g (28.80 oz) / 730 g (25.75 oz) Izzy: 842g (29.7 oz) / 822g (28.9 oz)/830 g (29.27 oz) / 815 g (28.75 oz) Lucy: 1117g (39.4 oz) / 1077g (37.9 oz)/ 1040 g (36.68 oz) / 961 g (33.89 oz) still very vey active, more so as the days go on. Still coughs slightly from time to time. I've noticed she does it when it is hotter. (Weird right?) and she is still eating more than everyone else. Ziva: 899g (31.7 oz) / 910g (32 oz) / 921 g (32.48 oz) / 910g ( 32 oz) ... And update: July 4: Izzy- 40 g Lucy- 50 g Ziva- 47 g Jane- 41 g July 5: Izzy- 45 g Lucy- 63 g Ziva- 49 g Jane- 47 g July 6: Izzy- 50 g Lucy- 70 g Ziva- 59 g Jane- 54 g I give them as much as they'll eat until they refuse me. Izzy is a bowl/spoon eater, the spoon gets her started and I'll spoon feed her to get more into her. Jane eats out of the bowl. Ziva eats out of the bowl. And so does Lucy. With these three I do spoon after, just to make sure they have eaten enough/as much as they can. which they usually have and won't eat off the spoon. Jane and Ziva have started eating larger chunks....probably the size of 1/2 my thumb (they didn't quite get blended enough :/ ) but they like it. Jane likes it because she can shake the pieces.... So gross. Haha. Any thoughts on any of this?

We are generally only advocating pumpkin during shedding season or for emergencies now.

Hey Audrey, could you post pictures of Lucy from the side, top and hanging? The hanging picture is just letting them hang while holding them under the front legs and take the picture from the front. This give a good idea of overall body shape. Sherry said she could still be adjusting to what her normal weight is on raw but we want to make sure she isn't to skinny. What are her poops like?

Her poops are loose. Not like diarrhea, but loose. And I guess I'm worried at this point just because they ALL have lost weight.

Ziva has gained and Jane is about the same. Izzy hasn't lost enough to worry about, it's just Lucy I am concerned about. Mainly because she is losing but eating the most out of all of them. I should hear back from Sherry or Heather soon on the pictures.
