He never trusted the kibble soup after I put raw into it lol. I barely put in 5% raw. He would only eat soup that had kibble pieces mixed in by himself.
The others are only eating the FDR. I just completely stopped trying with the soup during the heat wave because they we weren't getting anywhere. I'm starting back up today. First I'm going to get Johnny eating reconstituted FDR, then I'll transition that to raw soup by the end of the week. Hopefully. Does that sound good?

Some sneaky bugger gobbled down the entire bowl of re-hydrated FDR! It was on the kitchen floor and I thought everyone was sleeping...I almost always hear them scamper down the hall from their room.
And Johnny has made himself a new feeding den. I had an empty pop box (the long tube like 12 pack type) sitting on the floor and when I gave him a piece of dry FDR and he ran into that to eat it lol.

Any ideas as to the culprit? And yes, a LOT of people like to use those as dens. The ferrets really seem to like being able to get their entire bodies into them.

No clue! I have a feeling it was Jayden. He may be the smallest, but he seems to have the biggest appetite . I think I'm going to stick with this new feeding den. We'll see if the others like it too. They're perfect! It's pretty close to what they would do with a real burrow. Tonight I will leave out the FDR "slop", and tomorrow I will start adding some raw soup to it. This time I'll keep a look out for who's eating it! lol. I only have turkey right now and everyone seemed to prefer chicken. They've flip-flopped a few times on what they would accept. I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow to get some more meat for them. I've only been using ground meat thus far for the soup. It would be cheaper to use whole meat, no?

Yes, it would be cheaper. But are you willing to chop and puree meat soup? And instead of just leaving it out, start handing feeding them to get them going. Including Kyle.

Yup, I can chop it up. What I meant by whole was something like a chicken breast, not a whole chicken, sorry, poor choice of words. Is it just as easy to blend up chicken pieces?
They're being a little difficult. I followed the directions on how to reconstitute the FDR and it made soggy pieces instead of a soup. Johnny seemed to like it a little but there was a lot left over this morning which has never happened with the FDR - usually the bowl is licked clean. I just made the left overs into a soup and the babies gobbled it up.
I'm going to start blending it into a soup now and nose dabbing/hand feeding Johnny until he likes it. I'll try it with Kyle too.

Oh, I just realized why they left food. Since it's reconstituted, it would be filling up their bellies more than the dry.

Ok! So I'm going to start to add some raw soup into the FDR. They are LOVING the FDR soup I'm making. I'm not following the directions because well, they don't like it that way. I grind up the pellets first, and then just make it watery. Last night I put it on the floor while I went to clean their litter boxes before bed. I came back and it was almost all gone! They're being ravenous with it. Johnny was licking it off my fingers so I think he has been eating it too. I can smell success on its way! Or maybe that's the poop. Who knows anymore .

Sounds like their appetite increase has kicked in!!! This is a fantastic time to move to the raw puree, or even a raw grind How is Kyle with it?

I didn't have any soup made up today. I thought I had some turkey soup in the freezer but it was beef and they won't go near that. I have everything defrosting in the fridge and that's my first order of business tomorrow morning.
Kyle won't touch any of this stuff, as usual. I've been dabbing his nose, and he'll lick it off. But he still runs away. The others won't really touch the kibble at all still, which is great, but I wish Kyle would join in.

He will, never fear And you are doing him the best favour you can by sticking with this. Raw will regulate his blood sugars so much better than kibble ever could. Keep dabbing, and spoon feeding when you can!

At least he doesn't hate me for it like he did when I first started. Now it just bugs him but he forgives me instantly. That's a step in the right direction. It's time to make some soup, I hope mixing it with the FDR works! Wish me luck!

d*mn! The hunk of liver I defrosted is actually beef liver. It's hard to tell when it's in a frozen chunk. Do you think that would change the taste enough to put them off the soup??
