Okay, things are looking better (seems to be a toss up between my ISP being ... subpar and summer storms). You're right, it's completely aggravating - you never realize how much you depend on something until it goes wonky :C
So, what diet do you have Tomo on? I know you talked about the soup - is that what you've been feeding him, or is he still on the whole raw?

Summer storms...hmm...I vaguely remember summer. Isn't it that warm sunny thing where you get to wear shorts? We had that here once. It was nice.
I fed him soup until I ran out. Then I went back to the things I had in the freezer: bone in chicken and game hen, cubed pork, ground turkey, chicken gizzards, liver, and hearts.
My plan for this next week is to make up some soup and feed it as a "side dish" along with whole raw. For the bone in it will be game hen and chicken wings. I have not been able to find button bones anywhere, but I haven't been out to the Korean market in a while.
He really has an aversion to beef and I don't want to mess with getting him to eat it until he is all better --unless you think I should keep trying it.

Hahahaha, yeah, summer! I don't particularly care for it myself, and all these storms, besides knocking out my internet, wreck havoc on most of our dogs (3 of our 5 are hysterically terrified of them, and the other 2 are anxious but not so bad. Makes things ... fun : : ). No, you don't have to keep trying it if he's completely against it - beef is WAY on the outside of what a weasel would eat, anyway, and a lot of them don't like the rich taste. I just wanted to have you attempt it if he was just being picky, as they can do that with a lot of things they may or already DO like, so it's not a good habit to try once or twice and then stop Keep an eye out when you go to the market for other meats too and things like brains, tongue, etc. Those are all great things to add in.

My mother was just telling me about some kind of dog vest or something that is supposed to help dogs not be anxious during storms. I think it's like the weighted blankets that are used to calm special needs kids. The extra weight makes them feel secure. I 'll ask her about it. Yesterday and this morning Tomo's box was full of normal poos . (Well, not completely full. I do clean it each day) He looks better than ever and acts like he feels great. His eating habits are unpredictable. Sometimes he leaves things that he gobbles up first at other times. For example, I typically feed him liver and gizzards for an organ meal. Some days he eats only the liver, others only the gizzard. I suppose it balances out in the end.

Oh, yes - the thundershirt. I have one for one of my dogs - and between that, light orchestral music cds and pheromone collars he's ... pretty reasonable (he has other issues, though, making him a neurotic/senile mess at the best of times, so ). For various reasons the other dogs aren't up for the added weight/slight constriction of the shirt (bone issues). You really do start noticing the diversity in their eating habits when they're on raw and have options. But that's great to hear about Tomo's litterbox! Now he can start actually getting all the nutrients from his diet

So, Tomo had his last antibiotics on Friday and he is doing well. His poo looks pretty good.
This week he is eating chicken necks and wings, cubed pork, chicken giblets and some soup made with turkey meat and chicken heart and liver. Oh, also I will give him some whole smelt.
I ran out of benebac but I hope I can run to town and get some this week.

Are you trying for the 8-9 bone meals or are his meals still a bit wonky from all the vet and medical stuff (no big, right now, just checking in on that). His energy etc is the same? (also, how'd he like the smelt? )

I offered bone in every day but he only readily ate the necks and wings. When offered bigger pieces like the game hen thighs and drum bones he ignored them, or just nibbled the ends. He is hit and miss with the smelt, sometimes he eats it all and sometimes he just picks at it.
His energy is still really good, sometimes exasperatingly so. He can get into the bathtub with a running leap now rather than with the shower curtain assist (that was easily remedied by draping the curtain up over the rod). As a result we have to keep our shampoos and everything on the counter or he knocks them all down and pushes them around. How that is entertaining is a mystery to us, but we aren't ferrets.
His coat is really nice. My other ferrets never had such beautiful coats. And I have noticed that he doesn't have as much of an odor. High quality food makes a huge difference.

Ferrets are notoriously lazy eaters, and many prefer "easy access" bones. You might have to smash the bigger bits some to get him interested. There's never any telling what's going to strike a ferret's fancy, that's for sure, and your Tomo sounds like quite the mischief-maker, definitely

He really is! Keeps us entertained and/or exasperated.
The last couple of days he doesn't seem interested in much of anything I've fed him. I did make the soup with ground turkey though, and he really isn't into turkey. I just want to keep changing it up.
Still has good energy and poos look good most of the time.
Do you think I should cut the Benebac to once a week now? I have been giving it every other day but he's been off the antibiotic for a week.

If his poos are stable, I'd wean him. You can start by giving every three days and then switch to once a week. Scattered/changing appetite patterns are normal, if not accompanied by other signs of illness. If he eats well a few days in a row and then semi fasts himself or becomes finicky/peckish about food but is otherwise normal, it's not much to worry about, just his body's natural rhythm.
Once again, I have to apologize for late posting. The storms have knocked my power out (going on the 3rd day with electricity) - I'm at my sister's right now, mooching interwebs.

okay good. Everything seems fine. He was crazy yesterday, jumping around and getting like a foot of air! so I know he feels good. I am going back to the schedule I was trying to do before this detour.
Glad to hear from you. I was getting a little worried because I read about the horrible storms and heat you all were having. Meanwhile we are happy if it gets into the 70's and the sun comes out. I guess we shouldn't complain.

Hey, things are returning to steady, so I'm back! 70s sound so wonderful, ugh heatwaves :C I'm glad he sounds better, and let me know he handles readjusting to the schedule

Tomo has done great this week. I didn't feed him any soup, just whole pieces or bigger chunks and he handled everything really well. He is looking all grown up now--filled out. He weighs about 3 pounds. His poos look good on a consistent basis now, sometimes a little loose but not all weird like before. His energy is great. I'm continuing this week with the same chicken/pork/game hen menu.
