Yeah I hear you. My dog always refused to eat when in a new place or left alone. We only ever boarded her once because of it. My pup was likely abused by someone He came back a scared, different dog with changed habits. He kept shying away from us like we were going to smack him.

My dog was abused a great deal before she came to us at about a year old. Poor girl was afraid of everything. But not us, after a couple of weeks she trusted us. But she was still terrified of small space, and loud noises, and stairs, and men in uniforms, and people holding posts, poles or anything looking similar. (Previous owner was a police man, he was not very nice to her.)

Heart breaking D= Glad she is doing better in your care.
Anyway, still working on the food from the last grocery trip. Looks like tomorrow is going to be "meat buying day" as I have other errands to run and appointments later in the week.
I think Dex is getting lazy - I am not catching him chewing on bone as much as I used to. Either that or his appetite has dropped!

Hmmm maybe offer smaller meals if need be so they're a bit hungry on bone in days and then offer bones after a while to make sure they're eating them I guess. Most of mine absolutely adore chicken wing tips when we're having wings and I have to butcher them myself I give them the tips- you'd think it was candy the way Murder shovels it down so fast he chokes on 'em, lol.
I feel for you on the shopping, I gotta go buy barf in the next 3 days.

I feel for you on the shopping, I gotta go buy barf in the next 3 days. Might have to try that. They just aren't ripping apart the bones as quickly and I hate leaving them in there for the full 48 hours. Stinky! ;D Mine go ga-ga for chicken paws. I never find any remains when I include a chicken paw with their meal.

Mine seemed to like chicken feet when I found them that one time. Grossed Matt out, he's such a girl. Need to go to the Asian market again and have a look-see. Maybe tomorrow. ^_^
I either give them a large pork or chicken chunk less often and in smaller quantities to raise competition so that it gets eaten faster, or I give everyone something small like a wing tip (nature's toothbrush!) to eat so their meat isn't sitting around stinking. Blech!

See when they first started eating bone, I could toss a full chicken back or pork back or whatever in there and it would be almost fully eaten in 24 hours.
Now, not so much. Guess it must be a combo of spring + their bodies finally being caught up with the raw.
Smaller quantity time, I suppose.
Hehehe the chicken paws and so funny. You can pull the tendons coming out the leg end and make the paw grasp/move around. Scared my boyfriend with it.

Tehehe you're evil :3 I should do that to Matt some night.... I'll probably get in a lot of trouble for it though. Mine have definitely slowed down on eating (except for Murder, who believes it is his god given destiny to eat as much food in his lifetime as he can) and I've been tossing a lot of old soup that's been sitting. Need to adjust portions down some more. We're also getting a lot more active I've noticed here, prowling throughout the day when we should be sleeping.

Looks like my air fresheners are EO free. I moved them farther from the cage just in case

Okies. Can never be too careful. I use these little odor absorbing gel things and I want to try some of the bags of lava rocks to hang up in the rooms. How did your meat shopping go? I got some of the new S&C's rabbit and venison to try here. It turns out they raised the price though, so I won't be buying them again.

And we're back (sorta) still on vacation but we have the ferrets in our possession now as we're staying with his parents for a few days.
His mother actually ended up being our sitter for the weekend - the plans she had made to go out of town fell through.
And she LOVED the boys. They got a ton of exercise and love. This week they have had two organ meals and the rest have been on bone with a little off bone muscle meat thrown in. They're eating well, poop is good, lots of energy.
His mother wants ferrets now. ;D She loved how they wanted to explore and play but didn't destroy anything (just stole stuff).

Haha she lucked out, mine can be destructive when they put their mind to it. Carpet exists to be dug up or pooped on it my house, apparently. My grandmother is always making excuses to come visit "the babies". When you get back from vacation and settled in again, would you try posting an updated menu?
