Eventually they can build up the jaw muscles for chicken legs, mine are at the point where some of the boys gnaw the ends off, to get at the marrow and then chew the bone down about a third on each end. They probably can't chew up the entire thing but they make a real good go of it.

Oh mine eat the whole chicken leg bone and go for the marrow - I've seen them completely destroy one (so there were only little crumbs left).
They're also really loving the chicken paws I bought them. Very chewy. I've got a pack of chewers, thats for sure.

Think of all the lovely white teeth they'll have then with all that chewing. ;D
Stormageddon is one of our two that's been eating raw since 8 weeks old. He gets very disgruntled with me if I offer him a plain old piece of meat with no bone in it. He savors a good sit down and chew on a bone like his daddy savors a pour of whiskey and a cigar. I swear he thinks he's a dog.

Had a terrible nightmare last night that Dexter had lost all of his fur. Good news is he is completely a-okay and it was just a terrible dream. I worry so much about him - he's older (probably 3 judging by teeth) and was kept on Marshall's until I got him. He's made a complete 180 in terms of energy and personality and he actually has a really lovely coat! Last night was olive oil night, they've really taken a liking to the taste of it.

That's good. Most of mine still hate it, which works out well since I've noticed their paw pads seem a little dry, thinking I am going to try rubbing some EVOO into them to help moisturize.
Are they still eating once a day or did you get them onto two meals yet?

We are at two meals a day!
Some days they can be a little iffy and ignore the morning meal but, for the most part, they're eating two.

That's great! Glad they finally bent to your iron will. ;D Have you had any further luck with the organ shopping?

Not really. But I can get the pig stomach (which they love and fight over) easily now.
I have also found that a certain store packages a wide variety of organs in their whole chickens. Which is fantastic because I have the BEST whole chicken recipe (made in the crock pot) so I have a reason to be buying whole chickens often.

That's great, sounds like they are going to have a great variety. They're completely off of soup now if I recall correctly, just eating slivers and bones? Or bigger than slivers now?

No soup.
Chunks and bones. I cut the organs as well as some of the non-bone meat (gizzards) into large-ish chunks for them to eat. They probably don't need need me to, however. When I feed giblets from whole chickens I don't cut anything up and they manage.
When they're given an on-bone meal it's just that. I'll throw a giant pork or chicken back with the bone still in it in the cage and they just go to town. No help at all.

When you get a chance, will you repost your full menu? There's no rush, take your time.

I will be buying new meat and planning next week's menu in a few days.
The past week things haven't really been set in stone. I've had specific "organ" meals that were planned to make sure that they get the required amount of organ but other than that I've been switching between different on bone meals and a couple off-bone meals paired with chicken paws for the entire week.
Going to try to get a more "set in stone" kinda thing going on next week using some tupperware containers marked for each day.

Ok. Everything sounds good. Take your time. I'd watch your kiddos for you while you're gone if I were closer.

Thanks~ Going to try some turkey necks next week as my favorite grocery store just started carrying them. Might even re-introduce them to "Mr. Squeakers" - frozen mice. I had such a bad experience the last time I boarded my dog, I figured I should ask on here to find a reputable organization.

Yeah I hear you. My dog always refused to eat when in a new place or left alone. We only ever boarded her once because of it.
