Those are all minks. Pure american mink. Probably from a mink farm in Germany.

There was someone on this forum who was investigating about minks as a pet...there's a thread with a whole bunch of videos...they were utube videos so you could google them or whatever you do to find them (computer illiterate that I am ) Mink make a very different pet with a whole new series of needs right down to nutrition too. The mink that I've dealt with in rescue have 'tude....big time. They're fine when they're kits but then they change. The ladies that I know cannot allow them to play with their rescue ferrets...they will kill them. They're not social like our guys and seem to be a bit free with their teeth. They seem to do ok with their own but not so much with our wee guys. The mink I'm talking about are or were originally wild (people sometimes think they've rescued a baby ferret that has been dumped but instead they've picked up a baby mink that momma may have been coming back to get ) Farm minks are a totally different story. I've heard that lifespans are also questionable (lets face it...they are bred to be slaughtered at 18 months to 2 yrs who cares about lifespan, it's all about fur) They are cute, I won't deny it...but there's a hard look to those eyes.....not for me thanks. I don't agree with the furfarms but....I'm not sure about making them pets either. I prefer my mink to be wild and playing around my house...I don't think I would want them in my house ;D ciao
