Alright, sounds good. And I fully understand what you mean by the extra time. When Suki had her thrombosis, a good deal of time was spent with her on water therapy, floor therapy, getting her used to her wheels for added movement and hind end training, meds etc. That easily took up an hour to two hours a day depending. When we had to help her cross due to the facial tumour there was all this empty time. Yes, I remember being lost after Wendy, because at the time Peter was only on the pred and taking it easily. Wend, though, was on a billion different things a billion times a day. I had a few HOURS extra.

So the girls are eating about 1.5oz a day each, and the boys about 3oz a day each. I'd increase for the boys to 4oz each and go up or down from there as needed. I always have an extra bag thawing in the fridge for days they go through food faster. The girls sound like they are doing well Just compared initial weights and the loss is minimal.

Yes, thats approximately how it works out for amounts. It depends on what it is though too, thus the potential picky-ness? The girls eat their grinds faster and happier than larger pieces. I will certainly increase the boys. They are turning into little bricks. Winter is coming LOL

Of course they put down the grind faster lol. Ferrets are inherently lazy and if they don't have to chew won't

They are a bit lazy.... that baby is a princess. Rabbit chunks went over well the other day, though. Sam had funny looking poop, very light. I'm wondering if it was too fatty for him.

You'll find poops vary a lot depending on the protein and the ferret. Too rich or too fatty often results in very seedy poops. Those "seeds" are actually undigested fat particles. Not a big deal occasionally, but not something you want to see on a regular basis And good to see the rabbit is a hit! What other proteins do you have for them?

Duck the other day, which led to some seedy poop. But they haven't had duck in a while either, so I guess I'm not surprised. I gave the cat some goose and chicken grinds the last few days, which miraculously have stayed down. My head isn't fully in the game still, I'm trying, but my horse was sick over the weekend so my stress level is pretty sky high. All the oldies get hit at once with issues, it seems.

I understand. Take your time. Tell you what- post back in a week with a new menu with the various proteins and we can tweak it then.

Grinds for dinner last night. I was not paying attention and pulled out one pack of duck and 2 beef. Sounds fine, right? Except the beef was supposed to go to the boys and cat, and duck to the girls. Except I don't think I did it that way. No idea. And maybe it wasn't related, who knows. But I woke up at midnight to Tinker puking. It could have been too cold for her when she ate but that's not been a problem in the past. I am wondering if the beef went funky though, I thought I heard the boys yacking too but I may have been imagining it. Of course Mike was snoring so who even knows LOL.

Definitely something going on. I MUST have heard one of the boys puking last night. They seemed fine this morning before I left for work, but I came home to some vomit. I went to take care of horses first before cleaning it, and when I came back in to do some cleaning, poor Dean was NOT feeling good. Weak and looked terrible. He drank some water infront of me, I plopped him in his play pen so I could strip the cage, and heard the distinct sounds of puking only to turn to see him projectile vomit all over my floor. Thankfully I have pepcid leftover from Peter. He barely even registered the needle. It helped though it seems, he has been able to keep down water since. He's perked up a bit, but understandably still tired. I don't have help tonight so I don't feel comfortable trying to administer fluids on my own for him. He's taking some and it's staying down though by mouth so at least that. If he still looks pitiful in the morning I guess he's getting a field trip. My poor Deanie Bean.
I fed the boys duck this morning. I KNOW they got beef last night (It's the girls and cat I'm unsure if I swapped). What came up looks like beef, but I cannot be certain. The girls got duck this morning and they didn't eat more than a bite or two of it. I have a feeling it went bad. I'm not totally sure, but I think when it was out to be portioned it was too long of a period before it was put into freezer again. It makes sense, I know the order came when I had a lot happening. I wish I knew if it was beef or duck, though. I have a feeling throwing both away is the best option. Ouch. But I don't want anyone else sick if that's the issue.

If it was too off for them, they'd not have eaten it, so it isn't that. And true allergies are typically shown by projectile vomiting and diarrhea within 20 minutes of eating the suspect protein. However some sort of virus is also possible.

I don't know. He's much brighter this morning but still not 100%. I just can't believe how much vomit came out of that little belly. I gave him some ground pheasant this morning, he's only eaten about 15g of it. No more.
I don't know that the boys are SMART enough to avoid bad food, yet. The girls didn't eat it either, and I KNOW Monday is smart enough to avoid bad food. But these two boys are convinced they are starved regularly (you should have seen the Sammy pout last night when he realized there was no midnight meal) so I wouldn't be surprised if they ate first, asked questions later. At least a little bit.

It's a survival instinct they have. Intelligence plays no part in that Either way hope he is doing better!

I don't know...if you met him you'd understand why I sometimes worry about his survival instincts Thankfully he's back to his normal self. I gave him grinds for the next few days after, as I (not even thinking) gave them chicken necks for dinner the following night and the poor guy was trying to eat it but coughing and gagging the whole time. I'm sure his little throat was quite irritated. Tomorrow evening we'll do weights and an updated menu I also have to go through and see what I need to restock, with the holidays Hare Today's shipping schedule is tight and infrequent according to their site so I gotta NOT be my normal, procrastinating self!
