I tried to wrap him but he just squirms right out. My husband and I have been giving him a treat after and he has been doing a little better. He also seems to be doing a little better everyday over all. He is eating again. He doesn't seem to want to eat anything large or bone right now though. So I am cutting meat up and putting egg powder in it for now. His incision has a lot less seeping so it is healing slowly.

Good to hear he is starting to improve, and it sounds like you are doing what needs doing

😡 he pulled a stitch! This ferret is going to stress us to death. I had to drop him off at the vet this morning. I don't know how to keep him from doing that. I tried making him a sock shirt but it didn't work he wiggled right out. I really hope everything is ok. It didn't bleed so I'm hoping it is healed enough in that spot.

You may wind up putting a harness over the sock to keep it in place :/ Silly boy

Got a call from the vet. She said it is ok since it is at the bottom of the incision where it is healing well. So glad.

Gwin's incision is healing well over all but one area just doesn't want to heal. I don't really know why.

If a specific area seems to be showing zero improvement at all, you may wish to let your vet know about it, just in case they need to take a look at it again and see if there is a problem with it healing.

Sorry this pic is blurry, but this was Willow's incision after a week's time(abdominal surgery). I figured it might give you something to compare it to. Even thought there were spots that didn't appear to be healing properly, the vet said she looked normal and was healing well.

I just talked to the vet. She said the spot on the incision where the tumor was is just going to take a little longer to heal because she had to take some muscle out in that area. We follow up with the vet again on June 1st. Also good news! They got Gwin's test results back and the tumor is benign and it was just as infiltrating fatty tumor. So once the incision heals we are just suppose to keep an eye on in since it is possible it could grow back one day but the vet thinks she got it all so it may not come back at all. Save

Yay! Congrats sweetie! I'm so glad that it was benign and that little Gwin is going to be alright. It's always a good idea to keep an eye out for those kind of things, but thankfully it wasn't cancerous. I hope his incision heals up nicely real soon so he can be with Albie again.
