Frank is being a total pig to poppy today. This must be his 10th time out!
I'm hoping it's because this morning he was just hungry, he did settle down afterwards. & this afternoon everyone has been together in the ferret room while I clean.
I'm still considering taking her back to the shelter, right now I think she'll be happier somewhere else. It's been 7 weeks today since we brought her home. She isn't even defending herself when he beats her up!

Duck neck is still poison to both Frank & pops. I've even tried chopping it up small like I used to but nope! So everyone is on hunger strike atm, except Ellie, she's a good little princess.
Things have been bad between poppy & Frank this weekend, he just won't give her a break. Today I tried an oatmeal bath with them both, they took refuge in a tunnel I put in with them & there was no fighting, a bit of hissing but they shared the tunnel. The fighting started when they came out the bath tho.
She never fights back, she runs from him.
He doesn't hunt her down but he will pounce on her from behind & chase her off, he doesn't persue her, it's like he's defending his resource - food, bed ECT. There are times where she walks straight past him & he doesn't react, it seems to be just resource guarding.
She accidentally jumped on him the other day (the funniest thing I've ever seen) in her panic she couldn't get off him. He just whizzed around & glared at him! The look on his face was a picture. But he didn't attack then.
Right now his favourite hammock is up & he'll get in with her & beat her up to reclaim it.
I do honestly think it's just resource guarding. Like I said, he doesn't actively look for her, he just chases her off when she crosses the line. It doesn't always result in a fight, only sometimes.

Sorry I haven't forgotten u, I'll do the weigh in on Saturday.
Chicken wing is going down well. Poppy is a bit reluctant but Frank has no issues.
After bathing them on Monday? Things seemed a little better in till tonight. I've worked a night shift, so I've got them out for a little bit when I got home, Frank played!! But he has also been actively hunting poppy down this evening. Which is unlike him. He's 100% worse tonight than he ever has been. So idk what's happened this evening, I'll have 2 talk to Alf in the morning. Usually he's bad with her when they haven't eaten, they seem hungry but the food I've defrosted for them has gone - 120g of chicken chunks. I hope Alf didn't give that to the dog :/

Here's hoping! Is it possible they ate all of it, and want more?

Yes, he said he fed them the chicken. They're just greedy little piglets. So idk what Frank's issue with poppy was last night then. He was better this morning. Maybe it was just because he wanted to play & she crashed his party? I swear I'll never add to the business again, this is too stressful! I miss the old Frank & i love pops so much I don't want her to go, but at the same time I want her to be happy urgh! (I also want to add that I've just found a black scab-like growth on ellies side, it's not too big, my only concern is that jasper had something similar. I just thought I'd mention it so if it's there in a few weeks I can look back & give the vet time periods)

I've taken the weights & pics ECT, just with the wedding tomorrow I'm super busy. But Frank & Ellie have gained weight, poppys lost a bit. Bone & organ are still a little difficult but were getting there & poop is good.
Because it was bone last night & this morning no one has really eaten. Frank has done nothing but hunt poppy all morning. He just searches for her & pounces again & again! She's done nothing but run & poop in fear of him. He's had no interest in sleep, he's just looked for a fight again & again.
Poppy now just wants to hide from him. For her happiness I think she needs a new home. I'm so sad right now.

He's being difficult and taking his temper out on her. Sooner or later she'll reach her breaking point and trounce him. And get through the wedding- we'll work on the bone then For the scan, could well be a type of MCT. Keep a close eye on it.

1. name: ellie 2. weight: 498g up from 493g last week 3. average eaten: i think her teeth are getting to her now, she's not been eating too great the past few days but having said that it is VERY warm atm. 4. poops: perfect 5. Activity levels: normal for her. 6. Weekly menu: same as always (vince the vet commercial raw, either lamb with beef offal, turkey with lamb offal or beef with lamb offal). while we're on the subject of princess ellie - i took her bg yesterday morning & i don't think she had eaten in 6 hours - 3.6. while she was licking the salmon oil off her tummy she started so bleed from her mouth, i only noticed because she's white. i couldn't see what tooth it was but i think it was 1 of her front ones. she has also vomited in the morning 2 days running now. she hasn't brought much up if anything at all, i feel it's probably because she isn't chewing properly. she also seems to be licking her lips more frequently, i wouldn't say she's grinding her teeth, it's almost like she cant put her teeth together or a tooth is out of place & in the way. i'm going to monitor her for a week & then if i feel she needs to i'll take her to the vet on payday. i've tried to look at her teeth but she really struggles & she's so tiny it's difficult to see. i've been waiting for her to go into a dead sleep so i can get a propper look but she hasn't done that now for a few weeks. photos.app.goo.gl/HJ8UKSakJTT9Wr4X6photos.app.goo.gl/mW1ZGzgKpTEayWF7A*** 1. name: frank 2. weight: 864g up from 868g last week 3. average eaten: he's doing really well, i'm no longer smashing bone up. 4. poops: poops are back to normal. i'm having the odd stress poop depending on his attitude with poppy, but otherwise they're good. 5. Activity levels: he's not playing much, but he's getting back to normal slowly 6. Weekly menu: full frankenprey. i'll post the menu at the end. he's still being a pig to pops, they're seperate most of the time now. sometimes he'll let her come & sniff him or walk past him, other times he chases her & attacks on sight. i did take a few videos of his behavior, i'll see if i can upload them. photos.app.goo.gl/TXjyhfrvQm7bFbLV9photos.app.goo.gl/fVXffHNMDsmHT34y5*** 1. name: poppy 2. weight: 971g no change from last week 3. average eaten: she is still eating me out of house & home. 4. poops: they've been good up untill last night, she did 2 orange & very seedy poops over night. it'as clearing up now though. 5. Activity levels: very active. 6. Weekly menu: same as frank. photos.app.goo.gl/RHr4MXvaufbDudHF9photos.app.goo.gl/XTXkHPca5eP6NcDK8*** so menu - bone - i have turkey neck, chicken wing & a few duck necks left over. meat - pork tongue, pork meat, chicken, beef & white fish. these are fed randomly. organ & heart, idk what species they're from, i'm going to start feeding just liver & kidney rather than the pre-ground mince in an attempt to get them onto chunks. then i can start on spleen & testicle. Mon am - bone Mon pm - bone Tues am - heart (lamb) Tues pm - bone Wed am - heart, liver, kidney soup (50:25:25) Wed pm - bone Thurs am - bone Thurs pm - meat Fri am - bone Fri pm - meat Sat am - liver, kidney soup (50:50) Sat pm - bone Sun am - meat Sun pm - bone

So in this video poppy is in the cat carrier, I was about to take her upstairs for the day. Frank normally acts like this when there's a barrier between them. I never let it go on this long, I only did this time for the video - photos.app.goo.gl/99tQL8RqpmDJfg44AThis is what he's like with her maybe 60% of the time - photos.app.goo.gl/isBw1MspQYuPSKdN6

so just a quicky - ellie hasn't vomited since my previous post. that black scab-like growth has also fallen off. i'm monitoring the area to see if it grows back. she's also getting less & less active, it's clear her teeth are bothering her a little - i'm having to water her grounds down more & more. on top of that her insu isn't great & it's obvious she has arthritis in her back legs - when she gets up in the morning she walks like her back legs are stiff sticks. so i'm starting to seriously consider sending her off to the bridge. my current vet really doesn't think she'll survive dental surgery. i will get a second oppinion & possibly a third. if theres a chance that she could have another 6 months pain free then i'll risk surgery to have her teeth removed. i'd rather lose her during the surgery than not try at all, but that would also depend on the vets oppinion. i've thrown in the towel with frank & poppy. i think it's pretty clear that he doesn't want her here. i can't bear to find her a new home, so she's going to live a single life for a few more weeks or a month or 2 (depending on wether ellie has surgery) while i get a bigger cage, install & modyfy a baby gate to seperate the living room from the rest of the house & then i'll get her a friend. my plan is to have a large cage / rabbit hutch so 1 group can be caged by day, while the others have the ferret room & then i can do simultaneous playtimes with 1 group in the living room & the others in the hallway & computer room, & alternate the following day. we'll live like that untill we get into a propper routine & then i'll try slowly re-introducing frank & poppy in a few months. by that time i think ellie will be gone & frank will be alone. i'm ordering food this evening - they have plenty of meat in the freezer so they'll be on white fish, pork meat & tongue, beef chunks & duck gizzards for another 2 weeks. i've ordered fatty rabbit kidneys for them. chicken wings & turkey necks.
well that wasn't much of a quicky after all lol

I am sorry Ellie is in this position. It is difficult, but I think you are right to get a second opinion. And the plan for Frank and Poppy is a sound one. I also apologize that I haven't been on as much as I should.

Everything is going well. Frank & poppy now eat bone very well. Poppy eats her organ, its just frank that wont eat it. He had a few slithers last time tho, so im hoping to make more progress with him this evening. Poppy has had white seedy poop last night & today, too much chicken wing with skin? Franks poop has been bad today too but not as bad as poppy. photos.app.goo.gl/TfcsoVzN7x65NtN26I also think she's beginning to get sad. Were taking her to a dedicated ferret rescue on saturday to pick a friend. Were also going to take her back to the shelter we got her from to re-introduce her to the 2 females she lived with there. We'll see what happens, but hopefully she'll have a friend or friends within a week. We have the hutch ready to paint. Im looking at wipeable bathroom pain for the interior now. Ill also stick down vinyl flooring on the floor. Ellie has been better lately. No more vomiting & someone is eating her food really well! Im pretty sure its Ellie because franks never really liked it. But then if it is her shes eating considerably more than usual.

So this evening things have changed a bit between pops n frank - hes picked a few fights but shes stood her ground this time instead of running. There was alot of hissing from her & they got in each others faces but no fighting. There was alot of speed bumping from them both tho. Hopefully she'll continue to stick up for herself from now on.
Frank did ok with organ - i put a few chunky slithers on a spoon with blood & salmon oil & he ate a few slithers!
